Nghe An police dismantled a drug trafficking ring, seizing 22 blocks of heroin.

Implementing the Nghe An Provincial Police's plan to launch a high-intensity campaign to combat and suppress crime, through investigative work, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police discovered that Dao Minh Hoang (born in 1981), residing in Bach Mai Ward, Hanoi, was a key link in a drug trafficking ring that illegally transported narcotics from Laos to Vietnam. The suspect frequently traveled from Hanoi to the Nghe An and Ha Tinh areas to receive drugs from Lao nationals, and then distributed them to various locations.

On February 14, 2026, after confirming that Dao Minh Hoang would be entering Nghe An province, the special task force reported to the provincial police leadership and received instructions to implement the plan to crack the case. At approximately 7 PM on the same day, in Huong Son commune, Ha Tinh province, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Provincial Police, in coordination with the Technical and Operational Department, the police of Anh Son and Kim Bang communes in Nghe An province, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Ha Tinh province, and the Customs Control Team of Area 11 in Nghe An province, successfully cracked the case, arresting Dao Minh Hoang and seizing 22 blocks of heroin.

The successful handling of the case during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse 2026 is a remarkable achievement of the Special Task Force, demonstrating their resourcefulness, courage, and unwavering determination to combat crime, prevent drug trafficking into the country, and contribute to maintaining security and order, ensuring that the people can enjoy a safe and peaceful Spring Festival and New Year.
