Nghi Loc police successfully persuaded a wanted suspect to surrender.
While serving his sentence for robbery, Nguyen escaped, even fleeing to Cambodia. This wanted suspect was recently successfully persuaded to surrender by the Nghi Loc District Police and his family.
In 2022, Ngo Cong Nguyen (born in 2004), residing in Nghi Hung commune, Nghi Loc district (Nghe An province), was arrested by the Hanoi City Police for the following offense:robberyand was sentenced to 18 months of suspended imprisonment by the Hanoi City People's Court for the crime of robbery.
During his imprisonment, Ngo Cong Nguyen escaped to several places before fleeing to Cambodia. Upon learning this, the Nghi Loc District Police determined that they could use family ties and local authorities to persuade Nguyen to return to Vietnam and surrender, thereby benefiting from the leniency policies of the Party and State. Therefore, the Nghi Loc District Police discussed with Ngo Cong Nguyen's family the possibility of convincing him to return and turn himself in.
After a period of persuasion from his family and the Nghi Loc District Police, on September 6, 2024, Ngo Cong Nguyen surrendered to the Nghi Loc District Police. Currently, the Nghi Loc District Police are completing the necessary paperwork to process the case according to the law.
