Vinh City Police arrested 2 subjects, seized more than 20 kg of drugs
Vinh City Police (Nghe An) have successfully dismantled a transnational drug trafficking and transportation ring, arresting two suspects, seizing an exceptionally large quantity of drugs and other related evidence.
At around 12:05 p.m. on June 12, at landmark H3-743 of the Ho Chi Minh trail in Ngoc Lam village, Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district, Vinh City Police presided over and coordinated with Thanh Chuong District Police, Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) to successfully control and arrest Xayyasone Xay (born in 1990), residing in Saychalon village, Vieng Thong district, Bolikhamxay province (Laos).

The seized evidence included a backpack containing 3 kg of crystal meth and 170,000 synthetic drug pills (20 kg of various drugs) along with a number of other related evidence.
Continuing to expand the investigation, in the early morning of June 13, the Special Task Force arrested accomplice Le Ngoc Duong (born in 1990), residing in Vinh city (Nghe An).
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, Vinh City Police discovered a number of foreigners who often organized suspicious criminal activities related to drug trading and transactions in the border area of Thanh Chuong District. Information about the ringleader was identified as Xayyasone Xay residing in Bolikhamxay Province (Laos).
Vinh City Police reported to the Provincial Police leaders to direct the establishment of a special project, coordinate with other forces to focus on fighting and eliminating.

Although the project involved foreigners, operating in a border area with a complex geographical location, however, with the spirit of fighting to the end against crime. The project team had a thorough plan, successfully arrested, seized evidence, and ensured absolute safety. Thereby, promptly preventing a large amount of drugs from entering the area across the border.
Currently, the case is being further investigated by the Vinh City Police Investigation Agency.
