Vinh City police arrested two suspects and seized over 20 kg of drugs.

At approximately 12:05 PM on June 12th, in the area of ​​milestone H3-743 on the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Ngoc Lam village, Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district, Vinh City Police, in coordination with Thanh Chuong District Police and Thanh Thuy Border Gate Border Guard Post (Nghe An Border Guard), successfully apprehended Xayyasone Xay (born in 1990), residing in Saychalon village, Vieng Thong district, Bolikhamsai province (Laos).

The seized items included a backpack containing 3 kg of methamphetamine and 170,000 synthetic drug pills (20 kg of various types of drugs), along with other related evidence.

Continuing the investigation, in the early morning of June 13, the Special Task Force arrested accomplice Le Ngoc Duong (born in 1990), residing in Vinh City (Nghe An province).

Previously, through intelligence gathering, Vinh City Police discovered that several foreign nationals were frequently organizing suspicious activities related to drug trafficking in the border area of ​​Thanh Chuong district. Information identified the ringleader as Xayyasone Xay, residing in Bolikhamsai province (Laos).

The Vinh City Police reported to the provincial police leadership, requesting the establishment of a special task force and coordination with other forces to focus on combating and eradicating the operation.

Despite the involvement of foreign nationals and the operation in a border area with complex geographical conditions, the task force, with a spirit of fighting crime to the end, meticulously planned and successfully apprehended the suspects, seized evidence, and ensured absolute safety. This effectively prevented a large quantity of drugs from crossing the border into the area.

The case is currently being further investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Vinh City Police.
