The Criminal Investigation Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police has just dismantled an online gambling ring, summoning 14 suspects and determining that the total transaction amount exceeded 2 billion VND.
On June 15, 2026, the Criminal Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police announced the successful dismantling of a gambling ring that organized and participated in online football betting via the Internet. Authorities summoned 14 individuals involved for questioning and clarification of their illegal activities.

Through initial investigations and inquiries, the police determined that the suspects had used numerous agent and member accounts on online betting sites. This network organized football betting for many people in the province using sophisticated methods and tactics via the internet.
At the police station, the suspects confessed to receiving betting accounts from their superiors. They then divided the accounts among themselves, creating numerous sub-accounts to provide to gamblers who placed bets on international football matches online.

Initial investigations revealed that from May 10, 2026, until their discovery, the betting accounts managed by this group generated a total of over 100,000 betting points. According to the network's rules, this number of points is equivalent to over 2 billion VND in transactions.
During the raid, the police seized 14 mobile phones along with numerous important electronic documents and data related to online gambling and betting activities. These items are currently being analyzed to aid in further investigation.
Prosecution and detention of key suspects.
Based on the documents and evidence collected, on June 16, 2026, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police issued a decision to temporarily detain three main suspects for investigation into the act of "Organizing gambling".
The detained individuals include: Duong Tuan Hai (born in 1985), Nguyen Thong (born in 1990), both residing in Tay Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, and Tran Nghia Danh (born in 1972), residing in Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province.
Currently, the Criminal Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police is continuing to expand the investigation, clarifying the roles and extent of violations by other related individuals in order to handle them strictly according to the law.
