Hanoi police have dismantled a multi-billion dong football betting ring.
Six individuals involved in a football betting ring operating through the website 365cacuoc.com have been arrested by the Criminal Police Department of Hanoi City Police for investigation and prosecution.
The Criminal Police Department of Hanoi City Police has successfully dismantled a gambling ring that organized and participated in online football betting. According to initial investigations, the amount of money transacted in this ring reached billions of VND.
Methods used by gambling rings
Investigators determined that, due to a lack of stable employment, Nguyen Ta Hop (born in 1992, residing in Dai Thanh Commune, Hanoi) conceived the idea of organizing football betting to make a profit. Hop contacted an individual on social media to obtain an Agent-level betting account on the website 365cacuoc.com.
After obtaining the agent account, Nguyen Ta Hop further subdivided it into lower-level accounts (Members) and distributed them to various other individuals. These individuals used the assigned accounts to directly participate in gambling or to further distribute them to other gamblers. The total amount of money transacted through this network was determined to reach billions of VND.

List of 6 arrested individuals
Through the investigation of the case, the Criminal Police Department arrested 06 individuals involved in the ring, including:
- Nguyen Ta Hop(Born in 1992), residing in Dai Thanh Commune, Hanoi City.
- Luu Viet Khuong(Born in 1990), residing in Dai Thanh Commune, Hanoi City.
- Hoang Xuan Hieu(Born in 1991), residing in Nam Phu Commune, Hanoi City.
- Nguyen Duc Ngoc(Born in 1985), residing in Dai Thanh Commune, Hanoi City.
- Nguyen Huu Quyet(Born in 1989), residing in Dai Thanh Commune, Hanoi City.
- Nguyen Duc Thanh(Born in 1986), residing in Khuong Dinh Ward, Hanoi City.
According to police records, all the aforementioned individuals are self-employed and have no prior criminal record. At the police station, they admitted to their illegal actions.
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Hanoi City Police has issued a decision to temporarily detain the six suspects. Authorities are continuing to expand the investigation to clarify the actions of other related individuals in order to strictly handle them according to the law.
