Vinh City police busted a case involving the illegal trading of 1,500 liters of gasoline and diesel fuel.

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 13th, Vinh City Police, in coordination with Fire Prevention and Control Police Station No. 1, apprehended a large-scale illegal gasoline and oil trading operation.

During fire safety inspections before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Monkey 2016, the Vinh City Police and Fire Prevention and Control Police Department No. 1 discovered a large quantity of gasoline and oil of unknown origin at the private residence of Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, born in 1943, residing in Dong Tho block (Hung Dung ward).

Authorities are counting the confiscated items related to the violations.

At the scene, the police recorded violations of fire safety regulations and illegal gasoline trading, confiscating 5 drums of 200 liters and 19 cans of 20 liters containing approximately 1,500 liters of gasoline and numerous tools used for pumping, siphoning, and storing gasoline.

The barrels were used to store gasoline and oil in Mr. Thi's house.

What is noteworthy is that the entire area containing Mr. Thi's barrels and cans of gasoline and oil was stored in the family's living rooms, posing a high risk of fire and explosion.

The authorities proceeded to draw up a report on the violation.

Initial information indicates that Mr. Thi's house was a frequent meeting place for tanker truck drivers to siphon off fuel after the tankers had just left the depot for transport to gas stations.

The case is currently being finalized to process the violations in accordance with the law.
