Local police arrested a suspect who committed six thefts to get money to play video games.
According to the police, from April 2024 to the present, Pham Doan H. has committed six thefts in the area, with the aim of selling the stolen goods for money to spend and satisfy his passion for gaming.
The police in Da Son commune, Do Luong district, announced the arrest of Pham Doan H. for theft and the seizure of several related items.
Earlier, at 10:15 AM on March 27th, the Da Son Commune Police received a report from Ms. Dau Thi Xuan (born in 1984), residing in Do Luong town, Do Luong district, stating that at approximately 5:15 AM on the same day, while attending a service at Bot Da Parish Church in Da Son commune, Do Luong district, her white electric motorbike with license plate 37MD2-556.29 was stolen.
Immediately after receiving the report, the commune police employed a comprehensive set of investigative measures to clarify the matter. At approximately 12:30 PM on March 27th, the police arrested Pham Doan H. (born in 2007), residing in Da Son commune, as the suspect in the theft of Ms. Xuan's property, and recovered a white electric motorbike.
At the police station, Pham Doan H. confessed that at around 5:00 AM on March 27th, he went from his home to Bot Da Parish Church to attend the church service. While everyone was attending the service, H. went outside and spotted a white electric motorbike parked unattended in the churchyard. He stole it and took it away from the church area with the intention of selling it to fund his gaming addiction.
Through further investigation, the Da Son Commune Police determined that between April 2024 and March 2025, Pham Doan H. committed four thefts at the Bot Da Parish Church, stealing two MacBook and Asus laptops, two Oppo and Redmi mobile phones, and 31 million VND in cash. Most recently, on March 14, 2025, H. stole an iPhone 12 from Ms. Dau Thi Xuan.
The total value of the stolen property in the six thefts is over 80 million VND. Currently, the police have recovered one electric motorbike, two mobile phones, and one laptop.
