The police in Quynh Thang commune issued an administrative fine to a man for sharing false information.
The police in Quynh Thang commune (Nghe An province) have just issued a report and a decision to impose an administrative fine of 7.5 million VND on Mr. NVC (born in 1976, residing in Hamlet 1, Quynh Thang commune, Nghe An province) for the act of providing and sharing false information that insults the reputation of agencies and organizations.

Previously, through monitoring and assessing the situation on the internet, the police discovered that a personal Facebook account named "CN" had shared a video clip edited by the reactionary organization "Viet Tan" using AI technology. The video's content showed signs of distortion, defamation, and serious insult to the image and reputation of the People's Police force. Notably, this account also posted an accompanying status update that was inflammatory and offensive.
At the police station, Mr. NVC admitted to all his wrongdoings. The Quỳnh Thắng commune police requested that he remove the offending post and pledge not to repeat the offense.
The police recommend that citizens be vigilant and refrain from posting, sharing, or commenting on unverified information, especially videos and images that appear to have been manipulated using AI technology.
Currently, hostile and reactionary forces frequently exploit digital technology to create fake content aimed at distorting the truth, inciting public opinion, and tarnishing the reputation of agencies, organizations, and individuals. Any act of using social media to disseminate false information or insult the honor and reputation of agencies and organizations will be severely punished according to the law. Every citizen needs to raise their sense of responsibility when participating in social media, contributing to building a safe, healthy, and civilized online environment.
