The Tam Dong commune police fined an individual 5 million VND for providing and sharing false information.

The police in Tam Dong commune (Nghe An province) have issued an administrative penalty decision against citizen T.D.T. for the act of "providing and sharing false information and untrue information."

Based on information gathered, on March 19, 2026, the Tam Dong Commune Police clarified that T.D.T. (born in 1985), residing in Lien Khai hamlet, Tam Dong commune, had used his personal Facebook account to post articles containing false information related to local government leaders.

At the police station, T.D.T. admitted to the violation, voluntarily removed the post, and pledged not to repeat the offense.

Based on legal regulations, the Tam Dong Commune Police issued a decision to impose an administrative fine on citizen T.D.T. for the act of "providing and sharing false information, untrue information; distorting, slandering, and insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations, and the honor and dignity of individuals" according to Point a, Clause 1, Article 101, Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020 of the Government, with a fine of 5 million VND.

Following this incident, the police recommend that people raise their sense of responsibility when using social media, refrain from posting or sharing unverified information, and contribute to building a healthy and safe online environment.
