Announcing the list of 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers of 2017.

On July 27th, Nguyen Hong Ly, Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association and Head of the Organizing Committee of the "Proud Vietnamese Farmers 2017" Program, announced the list of 63 farmers selected for the title of "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer" in 2017.

According to the Organizing Committee, as of today, 63 provinces and cities have submitted dossiers of 137 candidates for the final round of nominations for the title of "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer 2017".

Of these, 12 are women and 125 are men. In 2017, the largest age group of candidates (77 farmers) was 46-60 years old, while the smallest group, with 4 farmers, was under 35 years old. There were 19 farmers aged 36-45 and 37 farmers over 60 years old.

This is the fifth consecutive year that the "Proud Vietnamese Farmers" program has been organized, with the highlight being the ceremony to honor and award the title of "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer". The program is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The "Proud Vietnamese Farmers 2017" program is an important event celebrating the 87th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Association (October 14, 1930 – October 14, 2017).
