Announcing the list of 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers in 2017
On July 27, Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Nguyen Hong Ly, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2017 Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program, approved the list of 63 farmers voted for the title "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers" in 2017.
According to the Organizing Committee, as of today, this year 63 provinces and cities have sent profiles of 137 candidates to participate in the final round of nominations for the title "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer 2017".
Of these, 12 are female and 125 are male. In 2017, the age of the candidates with the highest number (77 farmers) is from 46 to 60 years old, the age of the candidates with the lowest number with 4 farmers under 35 years old, and from 36 to 45 years old there are 19 farmers and 37 candidates are farmers over 60 years old.
This is the 5th consecutive year that the “Pride of Vietnamese Farmers” program has been organized, with the highlight being the Ceremony to honor and award the title of “Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers”. The program is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The program “Pride of Vietnamese Farmers 2017” is an important event to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (October 14, 1930 – October 14, 2107).
