The list of 870 official candidates for the National Assembly has been announced.
The Office of the National Election Council held a press conference to announce the list of 870 official candidates for the 14th National Assembly in 184 constituencies.
Based on Article 57 of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies, no later than 25 days before the election day, on the basis of the list of qualified candidates nominated by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the provincial level to run for the 14th National Assembly, the National Election Council shall compile and announce the list of self-nominated candidates for the National Assembly in each electoral unit nationwide.

At a press conference on the afternoon of April 26, the Secretary General of the National Assembly, Nguyen Hanh Phuc, announced the Resolution listing 870 official candidates for the 14th National Assembly in 184 constituencies nationwide, to elect 500 delegates to the 14th National Assembly.
Accordingly, the number of candidates nominated by the Central Committee was 197; the number nominated by localities was 673, achieving a ratio of 1.74 candidates per elected representative (including 11 self-nominated candidates).
The overall national structure:
The candidates included 339 women (38.97%), 204 ethnic minorities (23.45%), 97 non-Party members (11.15%), 168 re-elected candidates (19.31%), and 268 young people (under 40 years old) (30.8%).
Among the 197 candidates for the 14th National Assembly at the central level, there are:
- Party organizations: 12 people, a rate of 6.09%
- Office of the President and judicial bodies: 5 people, a rate of 2.54%
- Members of the National Assembly's agencies: 113 people, representing 57.36%
- Government sector, government agencies: 17 people, accounting for 8.63%
- Ministry of Defense: 15 people, representing 7.61%
- Ministry of Public Security: 3 people, a rate of 1.52%
- State Audit Office: 1 person, 0.51%
- Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations: 31 people, accounting for 15.74%
Regarding the composition of the candidates, among the 197 nominated individuals, there were 29 women (14.72%), 17 ethnic minorities (8.63%), 2 religious groups (1.02%), 7 non-Party members (3.55%), 101 re-elected candidates (51.27%), and 6 young people (3.05%).
Among the 673 candidates for the 14th National Assembly in the locality, there are:
- Female candidates: 310 people, accounting for 46.06%
- Ethnic minorities: 187 people, accounting for 27.79%
- Non-Party members: 90 people, accounting for 13.37%
- Young people: 262 people, accounting for 38.93%
- 67 National Assembly deputies from the 13th term were re-elected, representing 9.96%.
In both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, there are 50 candidates, and 30 representatives will be elected in each city.
