Announcing the list of 870 people officially running for National Assembly deputies
The Office of the National Election Council held a press conference to announce the list of 870 official candidates for the 14th National Assembly in 184 constituencies.
Pursuant to Article 57 of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies, no later than 25 days before the election day, based on the list of qualified candidates nominated by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Standing Committee of the provincial-level Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees for the 14th National Assembly, the National Election Council shall establish and announce a list of self-nominated candidates for National Assembly deputies in each constituency nationwide.

At a press conference on the afternoon of April 26, Secretary General of the National Assembly Nguyen Hanh Phuc announced the Resolution on the list of 870 official candidates for the 14th National Assembly in 184 constituencies nationwide to elect 500 deputies to the 14th National Assembly.
Accordingly, the number of candidates introduced by the Central Government is 197; the number introduced by localities is 673, reaching a ratio of 1.74 candidates per 1 elected representative (including 11 self-nominated candidates).
General combined structure of the whole country:
There are 339 female candidates, accounting for 38.97%; 204 ethnic minorities (23.45%), 97 non-Party members (11.15%), 168 re-elected candidates (19.31%), and 268 young people (under 40 years old), accounting for 30.8%.
Among the 197 candidates for the 14th National Assembly in the Central region, there are:
- Party agency block: 12 people, rate 6.09%
- Block of the President's office and judicial agencies: 5 people, rate 2.54%
- National Assembly agencies: 113 people, 57.36%
- Government block, government agencies: 17 people, 8.63% rate
- Ministry of Defense: 15 people, 7.61% rate
- Ministry of Public Security: 3 people, 1.52% rate
- State Audit: 1 person, rate 0.51%
- Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations: 31 people, 15.74%
Regarding the combined structure, among the 197 candidates, there are 29 women (14.72%), 17 ethnic minorities (8.63%), 2 religious people (1.02%), 7 non-Party people (3.55%), 101 re-elected people (51.27%), 6 young people (3.05%).
Among the 673 candidates for the 14th National Assembly in the locality, there are:
- Female candidates: 310 people, 46.06%
- Ethnic minorities: 187 people, 27.79%
- Non-Party members: 90 people, 13.37%
- Young people: 262 people, 38.93% rate
- Re-elected XIII National Assembly deputies: 67, 9.96% rate.
In Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, there are 50 candidates and 30 elected representatives in each city.
