Previously, on June 1, 2023, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 1568/QD-UBND on the appointment of leading and managerial officials. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Vice Rector of Vinh Medical University, was appointed as Rector of Vinh Medical University for a term of 5 years.

Presenting the appointment decision, offering flowers, and speaking at the ceremony for the appointment of the Rector of Vinh Medical University, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and provincial leaders, congratulated the Doctor.Nguyen Van Tuan has been appointed as the Principal.Vinh Medical University.

After 23 years of service at the school, having undertaken various tasks and earned the trust and appointment as principal, Comrade Nguyen Van Tuan has accumulated a wealth of experience, demonstrated his capabilities, and gained a thorough understanding of the school's strengths, weaknesses, potential advantages, and bottlenecks.

In his new role as Rector of Vinh Medical University, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also expressed his hope that Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan would quickly grasp the work, closely adhere to the university's tasks, and uphold the more than 60-year tradition of building and developing the university, built upon by generations of its predecessors, in order to achieve even greater breakthroughs.

Looking ahead, Comrade Bui Thanh An also suggested that the new principal should uphold the role of a leading example, working with the school's staff to promote internal unity, leveraging collective intelligence and emphasizing individual responsibility, creating an environment for what is right, progressive, and creative to flourish.

At the same time, it is necessary to build a mechanism for autonomy in staffing and finance, contributing to improving all aspects of the school's operations, enhancing the material well-being, and ensuring that civil servants, teachers, and lecturers are motivated.In addition, it is necessary to expand relationships with universities and hospitals in the region and nationwide.To develop the school and its hospital into a specialized medical center, applying advanced medical techniques, and serving as a good practice facility for staff and faculty.

The school's leadership also needs to closely adhere to the school's political mission to expand the scale and scope of training programs, meeting the international demand for human resources not only for Nghe An province, but also for other provinces in the North Central region and neighboring Laos. This aims to work with the province to effectively implement Resolution 26-NQ/TW on building Nghe An into a medical center of the North Central region.
