Announcement and presentation of the Decision appointing Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi as Deputy Minister of Education and Training.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 15th, a ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education and Training to announce and present the Decision appointing Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi as Deputy Minister of Education and Training.
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Kim Son - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Minister of Education and Training; leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training and a number of related ministries and sectors.
Representing Nghe An province were Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; and Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
Also attending were: Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and organizations.

Previously, on February 1, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 137/QD-TTg transferring and appointing Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc of Nghe An province - to the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training. The decision took effect from February 1.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training, presented the appointment decision to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Deputy Minister of Education and Training.

In his congratulatory remarks and assignment of duties, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son expressed his joy at the Ministry of Education and Training having a new Deputy Minister. This is both a joy for Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi personally, as she has been entrusted with this responsibility by the Government, and a joy for the entire Ministry in appointing a colleague with extensive experience in the field at the right time.

The Minister of Education and Training also stated that the education and training sector is currently undertaking many major tasks and facing numerous challenges in the period of fundamental reform of education and training.
In particular, 2024 is a crucial year, a critical period for completing the reform of general education; it is also the year to begin developing many policies in the field of preschool education; and a year with many major tasks in perfecting the institutional framework and other tasks.
In this context, the timely appointment of personnel by the Ministry of Education and Training is a very favorable condition for the sector to continue to maintain its work in the best possible way and undertake many major tasks in 2024.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son also stated that in recent terms, the Ministry of Education and Training has always had a female deputy minister appointed. This shows the policy of caring for female officials, which is consistent with the characteristics of the sector, with over 70% of officials and teachers in the sector being women.
The Minister of Education and Training also expressed confidence, noting that Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi has grown up in the education sector and has held many positions, including direct teaching at secondary schools and serving as the head of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province. She possesses extensive practical experience from various grassroots levels. These qualities, abilities, experiences, and expertise will provide a favorable foundation for the new Deputy Minister of Education and Training to successfully fulfill the challenging and important tasks ahead.

At the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son also expressed his gratitude to the Party Committee, the Government, and the ministries and agencies for supporting the Ministry of Education and Training's policy on personnel matters. He also thanked the leaders of Nghe An province for their support and understanding of the Ministry's policy and for creating a favorable environment for Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi to be trained, developed, and mature.
Based on the experience she has accumulated, the Minister of Education and Training trusts that the new Deputy Minister will fulfill the assigned tasks; at the same time, he hopes that Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi will continuously learn, strive, be creative, listen to practical realities to master her work and together with the Ministry fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party and the Government.

In her acceptance speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi expressed her gratitude to the Party and Government leaders, the Prime Minister, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training, the leaders of Nghe An province, and the agencies where she had previously worked for their trust and for creating opportunities that allowed her to contribute, grow, and achieve the success she has today.
Upon assuming his new role, the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Education and Training recognizes the importance and responsibility involved. Therefore, alongside the honor comes a heavy burden of responsibility. This requires him to continue striving to learn, cultivate, and improve himself, dedicating his efforts to advising the Party Committee, the Minister, the Deputy Minister, and his colleagues, contributing his intellect, emotions, dedication, and responsibility to the successful implementation of the fundamental and comprehensive reform of the national education system.
At the same time, together with the leadership of the Ministry, departments, bureaus, and functional offices, we will strive with a spirit of unity, cooperation, and a willingness to learn, making every effort to successfully complete the assigned tasks.
At the ceremony, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and other members of the Nghe An provincial delegation presented a congratulatory flower basket to the new Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Thi Kim Chi.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Chi was born on November 2, 1971, in Thanh Ngoc commune, Thanh Chuong district, and holds a PhD in Educational Management.
During her nearly 30 years of service, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi spent almost 17 years at Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School, where she served as a teacher, Youth Union Secretary, and Deputy Principal.
From June 2009 to June 2014, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training. From June 2014, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, 18th term; Secretary of the Party Committee; Director of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training; and a representative of the Provincial People's Council.
From March 2019 to July 2021, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, 18th term, and Secretary of the Cua Lo Town Party Committee. During that period, from October 2020 to July 2021, he was a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
Since August 2021, Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Chi has been a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc, and a delegate to the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.
