Nghe An Trade Union achieved and exceeded many targets in the first six months of 2024.
On the morning of June 27th, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions held a conference to review trade union activities during the first six months of 2024, implement key tasks for the last six months of the year, and summarize the 2024 Workers' Month activities.
Attending the event were Comrade Nguyen Thi Thom - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; representatives from relevant departments and agencies; and full-time trade union officials from throughout the province.
Comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor - co-chaired the conference.
Many results exceeded expectations.
In implementing the Resolution of the Trade Union Congress at all levels for the 2023-2028 term, and focusing on the theme "Putting the resolutions of the trade union congress at all levels into practice; competing to achieve accomplishments to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union," the trade unions at all levels in Nghe An have organized many vibrant, timely, and effective activities.

To achieve the 17 targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2024,Provincial Labor UnionNghe An province has issued 12 key contents, tasks, and solutions. As of May 31st, the Nghe An Trade Union has exceeded 4 targets and completed 3 targets. Notable examples include establishing women's committees outside the state sector; disseminating and studying Party resolutions, policies, and laws; organizing Workers' Month activities in enterprises; improving the professional skills of union members; and training and developing new grassroots trade union chairpersons…

In the first six months of 2024, the province established 41 grassroots trade unions in non-state enterprises, exceeding the 2024 plan target of the Provincial Federation of Labor by 102.5%, and recruited 8,264 new members.
In its role of supporting union members and workers, the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union has implemented exemplary and effective models. Specifically, the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union at all levels spent nearly 20 billion VND on Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations for nearly 23,000 union members and workers; and provided a total of 1.46 billion VND in funding for the construction and repair of 39 "Trade Union Shelters" for union members and workers.

In addition, areas such as developing policies and laws related to workers; launching emulation movements and celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union; women's affairs, inspection, and supervision... also achieved many positive results.
The 2024 Workers' Month was organized by units from the provincial to the grassroots level with many vibrant activities and practical actions, achieving comprehensive results and having a high ripple effect. The Provincial Labor Federation, in coordination with the Provincial Council for Occupational Safety and Health, organized the launching ceremony to respond to the Occupational Safety and Health Action Month and the 2024 Workers' Month.
Establishing a monitoring team to oversee the implementation of the Law on Occupational Safety and Health at 7 enterprises; Organizing a conference to commend 95 workers in Nghe An who followed President Ho Chi Minh's teachings in 2024; Providing 29 million VND in support to 58 workers suffering from silicosis; Visiting and encouraging 38 workers and 2 contractors participating in the construction of the 500 kV power line project, circuit 3, in Nghe An province.



At the district, sectoral, and grassroots levels, there are many outstanding activities such as organizing flag-raising ceremonies and singing the national anthem for union members and workers every Monday morning; coordinating with businesses to organize "Trade Union Meals" during Workers' Month; organizing dialogues on policies and regulations and forums on "Workers for Businesses - Businesses for Workers"; signing welfare programs for union members and providing free health check-ups; the "Summer Cooling" program for workers; organizing sports competitions, mid-shift exercise sessions, preparing meals for workers, and commending exemplary workers in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings...
9 key areas of focus for the last six months of the year.
Based on the regular tasks for 2024 set out at the beginning of the year, and fulfilling the targets assigned for 2024 according to Decision No. 675/QD-TLD dated April 2, 2024, the Nghe An Trade Union will continue to focus on implementing nine key areas in the last six months of the year. Specifically, it will continue to effectively implement the Action Program of the resolutions; and focus on implementing the theme of the 2024 work plan.

At the same time, focus on solutions to achieve and surpass the targets set in Decision 675/QD-TLD dated April 2, 2024, of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on assigning targets for the 2024 tasks; organize activities to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union; promote the role of grassroots trade unions in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; focus on directing the collection of trade union fees according to Decree 191/ND-CP…
To recognize the outstanding achievements of individuals and collectives, the conference awarded 2 Emulation Flags from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 4 Emulation Flags from the Provincial Labor Union to educational units for the 2023-2024 school year; 37 Certificates of Creative Labor to individuals and 10 Certificates of Merit to outstanding units during Workers' Month.

Looking back at the achievements of the Nghe An Trade Union in the first six months of the year, Comrade Kha Van Tam acknowledged the results in implementing the Congress Resolution.Trade UnionAt all levels; educational and propaganda work is widespread and practical; there is innovation in welfare activities, with many activities directly reaching workers; there are positive changes in the establishment of grassroots trade unions and the development of union membership; Workers' Month has achieved many comprehensive results.

Based on the advantages and disadvantages, the head of the Provincial Labor Union suggested that all levels of trade unions should develop specific and practical action plans, leveraging the coordinated efforts and responsibility of trade union officials.
At the same time, it is suggested that trade union levels should continue to effectively implement the Action Program of the Resolution of trade unions at all levels, and review the targets and tasks.
