The Vietnamese community in Singapore continues to unite, thrive, and maintain a connection to their homeland.
Continuing the activities within the framework of the State visit to Singapore, on the afternoon of May 30th, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level delegation, met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, as well as a large number of Vietnamese expatriates, experts, and intellectuals living, studying, and working there.
Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh expressed his pleasure in welcoming General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife; emphasizing that in recent times, Vietnam-Singapore relations have become increasingly effective in all fields, and this visit, with its diverse and rich activities, is of great significance, contributing to further strengthening and deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.
Reporting to the General Secretary and President on the community situation, Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh emphasized that the Vietnamese community is particularly interested in and supportive of the nine strategic resolutions of the Party and State on national development, especially Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology and innovation; and is responding to the call to join hands in building the country.
Vietnamese associations and networks of experts and intellectuals in Singapore are increasingly developing, engaging in numerous activities to connect with Vietnam in the fields of science, technology, innovation, education and training, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship, contributing to promoting Vietnam-Singapore cooperation.
Extending warm greetings to the Vietnamese community in Singapore, General Secretary and President To Lam stated that this visit takes place in the context of the highly dynamic, substantive, and effective development of cooperation between the two countries, becoming a successful model of cooperation within ASEAN. Singapore is a leading economic partner of Vietnam in the fields of investment, trade, and connectivity, and actively supports Vietnam in human resource training.
In particular, Vietnam's keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue, the leading security forum in the Asia-Pacific region, contributed to demonstrating Vietnam's increasingly important role, position, prestige, and contributions to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

Regarding the domestic situation, the General Secretary and President emphasized that in recent times, Vietnam has implemented a revolution to streamline the organizational structure and reorganize administrative units, shifting strongly from administrative management to elevating governance and fostering development, with the effectiveness of serving the people as the highest measure.
With the goal of making Vietnam a powerful, prosperous, and happy nation by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the nation's founding, the Party has determined that it must fundamentally reform its development model, taking science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the foundation and main driving force for rapid and sustainable development.
The General Secretary and President welcomed the positive role of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese community in Singapore in supporting and connecting the community and preserving national cultural identity; and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and dedication of Vietnamese experts, intellectuals, and scientists in Singapore in connecting and implementing activities and projects for knowledge transfer, research, and scientific and technological development with Vietnam.
The General Secretary and President expressed his wish that the Vietnamese community in Singapore would continue to unite, develop, and remain connected to their homeland, preserving the Vietnamese language and national cultural identity; continue to be an important bridge promoting friendly relations between Vietnam and Singapore; and that Vietnamese experts and intellectuals in Singapore would continue to participate in training and developing high-quality human resources, actively contributing to the development of science and technology and innovation in strategic fields, creating momentum for breakthroughs, and helping the country soon achieve the development goals set by the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Emphasizing that the Party and State always care for and look after the Vietnamese community abroad, the General Secretary and President affirmed that domestic agencies will continue to improve policies for overseas Vietnamese, better meeting the legitimate aspirations of our compatriots abroad, as well as creating more favorable conditions for investment, business, research, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer, and preserving the Vietnamese language and national cultural identity…
The General Secretary and President commended the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore for their efforts in successfully fulfilling their diplomatic and community work duties; and requested the Embassy to continue paying attention to and supporting the activities of Vietnamese associations in Singapore, strengthening connections between the Vietnamese community and Vietnam to implement specific projects.
