Wits technology: The secret behind the Galaxy Z TriFold's 3.9mm slim profile.
Samsung collaborated with Wits to develop an ultra-thin 15W wireless charging module, specifically designed to help the Galaxy Z TriFold achieve a record-breaking slimness.
To achieve its record-breaking thickness of 3.9 mm when unfolded, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold had to integrate several groundbreaking technical solutions, most notably the ultra-thin wireless charging technology developed exclusively by Wits. This module not only ensures 15W power according to the Qi standard but is also optimized for the device's unique multi-folding design.
Wits' specialized wireless charging solution
Wits, a long-time partner of Samsung, has revealed plans to provide a fully customized wireless charging solution for the Galaxy Z TriFold. This technology is designed with optimal thickness and specifications to suit the structure of a foldable device. Despite its ultra-thin size, the module maintains a 15W charging capacity and fully complies with the Qi standard set by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC).
The partnership between Wits and Samsung is not new. Previously, the company has provided charging solutions for several generations of Galaxy S and Galaxy Z phones. Being selected from the early stages of TriFold development demonstrates the reliability and high level of technological sophistication that Wits possesses.

Technical challenges and integrated solutions
Reducing the thickness of the Galaxy Z TriFold to 12.9 mm when folded and just 3.9 mm when unfolded is a significant engineering achievement. To accomplish this, Samsung had to restructure almost the entire internal component system, surpassing conventional design standards for foldable smartphones.
Besides Wits' charging module, other partners also play a crucial role. Goodix, another component supplier, has confirmed equipping the Galaxy Z TriFold with a next-generation touchscreen and an ultra-narrow capacitive fingerprint sensor located on the side. The combination of these specialized components has contributed to a device that is not only thin and lightweight but also incorporates many technological innovations.
