Nghe An's industry and exports are experiencing positive growth.
The year 2024 marked a significant milestone for the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade in the fields of industry, commerce, and import-export, making a positive and important contribution to the overall socio-economic development of Nghe An province.
Vibrant industrial, commercial, and export activities.
Speaking with reporters, Mr. Pham Van Hoa, Director of the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade, shared his joy at the end of the year, as all three important indicators of the industry and trade sector exceeded the plan. These are: Industrial production value estimated at VND 113,027 billion, an increase of 16.38% compared to 2023; Total retail sales of goods estimated at VND 107,000 billion, an increase of 12.5% compared to 2023, exceeding the plan by 15.05%; Export turnover in the province reached USD 3.7 billion, an increase of 28.38% compared to 2023, exceeding the 2024 plan by 23.33%.

Industrial production has seen positive changes, with some products making breakthroughs and contributing to socio-economic growth in the area, such as: The production of electronic components and automotive parts is estimated to double compared to the same period last year due to the stable production of electronic component manufacturing projects in the province, and the commencement of production by new projects (Luxshare ICT Vietnam Co., Ltd. expanding its production line, Goertek Electronic Components and Precision Equipment Factory starting trial operations...). Therefore, in 2024, the estimated production is 580 million products, a threefold increase compared to 2023, meeting the assigned plan.

Over the past year, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has focused on restructuring the industrial sector and attracting investment in a more in-depth manner, shifting traditional products to high-tech products, contributing to the participation of Nghe An products in the global supply chain.
Supporting industries continue to develop, especially in the production of electronic components and automotive parts. The textile and footwear industries aim to invest in high value-added stages in the value chain and apply smart manufacturing technologies to production processes, becoming key export products.
Many businesses (domestic investors) have overcome difficulties to develop production and business, ranking among the top contributors to the province's budget, such as those in the milk, sugar, corrugated iron, steel, and beer industries.

Regarding export activities, the proportion of unprocessed raw materials decreased, while industrial and processed goods continued to increase. The number of businesses participating in exports is growing, with nearly 400 enterprises, including approximately 250 from Nghe An province. The export markets for Nghe An businesses have continuously expanded over the years. By 2024, businesses in the province had exported goods to 150 countries and territories, an increase of 26 markets compared to 2020.
In terms of commerce, the supply of goods is abundant, and essential items such as gasoline, food, etc., have stable prices, meeting market demand.
Implement a comprehensive set of state management solutions.
2024 is identified as a pivotal year, of particular importance in successfully implementing, accelerating, and striving to achieve the goals of the 2021-2025 five-year socio-economic development plan and the resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels.

Also during the past year, the industry actively implemented key power grid projects on schedule, such as the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line. At the same time, it actively prepared to attract investment for the Quỳnh Lập LNG gas-fired power plant project with a capacity of 1,500 Mbps and a total investment of over 2 billion USD. The industry also effectively implemented policies supporting industrial development, industrial promotion, supporting industries; supporting industrial cluster infrastructure; and supporting e-commerce.

Inspection, control, and market stabilization; consumer protection; implementation of the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, linked with the development of the domestic market and trade promotion activities; business networking; product consumption support; application of commerce; development of the digital economy and e-commerce... continue to receive strong attention. Actively coordinating with Vietnamese trade offices abroad, the Trade Promotion Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade regularly provides information on market and product conditions, thereby connecting and supporting the search for domestic product markets and expanding and promoting export markets.
