Coach Park has big ambitions!

While Vietnamese football is celebrating the achievements that coach Park Hang-seo has brought, the South Korean coach himself remains humble, admitting that he has only won the championship once and aspires to win more.

Coach Park was very happy with the victory of the Vietnamese national team at the 2018 AFF Cup. However, in other competitions such as the U-23 Asian Championship (runner-up), the semi-finals of the 18th Asian Games, or the quarter-finals of the 2019 Asian Cup, the South Korean coach still has many regrets for not reaching the highest peak.

Coach Park Hang-seo's humility in admitting that he hasn't yet achieved success with just the AFF Cup title, coupled with his ambition to conquer even greater goals, is a powerful motivation for him to help his players soar even higher and further.

Coach Park: 'Vietnam U23, the runner-up, is not yet a strong team in Asia'

The draw for the group stage of the 2020 AFC U23 Championship will be held on the afternoon of September 26th in Bangkok, Thailand.

Before the draw, coach Park Hang-seo remained humble. He shared with Sports Seoul: “Vietnam was the runner-up in the last tournament, but we are still not a strong team in Asia. Compared to South Korea, the Vietnamese team's strength is clearly lower. Kim Hak-bum (South Korea U23 coach) said that scenario would be very interesting, but I don't want to face South Korea at all.”

In this year's AFC U23 Asian Championship, Vietnam U23 is in Group 1 of the seeded teams along with host nation Thailand, defending champion Uzbekistan, and Qatar. Nguyen Quang Hai and his teammates may face South Korea U23 again as they are in Group 2 of the seeded teams.

The finals will take place from January 8th to January 26th of next year.
