Ban Ve Hydropower Company is the managing unit of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, the largest hydropower plant in Central Vietnam with a capacity of 320 MW. Despite numerous difficulties and challenges, the company has continuously strived to improve, fostering a spirit of creative labor and competition, and successfully fulfilling the political and production/business tasks assigned by Power Generation Corporation 1 and Vietnam Electricity Group.

Since its commissioning with two main generating units officially connected to the national power grid in 2010, Ban Ve Hydropower Company has made a significant contribution to ensuring national energy security, especially for the North Central region. Annually, the plant's electricity output averages over 1 billion kWh, consistently exceeding assigned targets for many years. In 2024 alone, electricity production reached 1,225 million kWh, equivalent to 158% of the plan and 133% higher than in 2023.

In particular, during the first five months of 2025, the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant achieved an electricity output of 362.82 million kWh. This is clear evidence of the diligent and efficient work of the unit's staff in maintaining and developing power generation capacity under increasingly complex climate change operating conditions.

Besides its electricity production function, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant always prioritizes equipment maintenance and repair with the motto "prevention is better than cure." The application of Reliability-Based Repair (RCM) is a step in the right direction, demonstrating a strategic vision for long-term and sustainable operation. In 2024, the unit completed the major overhaul of unit H1 and the minor overhaul of unit H2, addressing thousands of minor technical defects and ensuring the highest level of safety for the entire system. With a proactive, economical, and flexible approach, regular maintenance is carried out rigorously, significantly saving on material procurement costs and maintaining a high level of readiness for backup equipment.

Beyond its technical and operational capabilities, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant excels in corporate governance. Its quality management system is maintained according to ISO 9001:2015 and other international standards. The company actively promotes the application of digital technology in its operations with human resource management software (HRMS), financial management software (ERP), and technical management information systems (PMIS), creating a solid foundation for administrative reform and digital transformation. These steps not only help the unit operate more efficiently but also enhance transparency, reduce administrative procedures, and save time and costs for the entire system.

Occupational safety and health and fire prevention are also top priorities for the company. Throughout 2024, there were no workplace accidents or fire incidents. The company implemented comprehensive measures including equipment inspection, occupational safety and health training, fire drills, and regular inspections at each workshop. Workers' awareness of safety regulations has significantly improved. The use of Zalo groups for daily safety monitoring demonstrates flexibility and creativity in management and has yielded practical results.

Promoting patriotic emulation and a spirit of community service.

One of the most striking aspects of Ban Ve Hydropower Company's operations is the widespread and comprehensive patriotic emulation movement. These movements are closely linked to production activities, specific timeframes, and assigned tasks. Emulation campaigns such as "completing production and business plans," "safe and efficient operation," and "ensuring quality and timely completion of generator overhauls" are always implemented systematically, with timely summaries and commendations. As a result, the sense of responsibility and dedication of employees is significantly enhanced, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition and contributing significantly to the overall success of the company.

From these emulation movements, many outstanding individuals have been discovered, nurtured, and honored in the past period. Engineers like Cao Thanh Liem – Team Leader of the Information Security Team, Technical and Safety Department, and Nguyen Thanh Luan – Shift Leader, Operations Workshop, not only excelled in their professional duties but were also pioneers in technical innovation, initiatives, and internal training. Their contributions are vivid proof that the patriotic emulation movement is not merely a formality but a true driving force for sustainable development.

Beyond focusing on production efficiency, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant is also a leading unit in fulfilling its social responsibility and engaging with the community. Programs such as "Tet for the Poor," "Mid-Autumn Festival for Children," supporting the construction of charitable houses and boarding schools for poor students, and releasing fish to replenish aquatic resources have become annual activities organized by the company.

Over the past five years, Ban Ve Hydropower Company has contributed more than 24.2 billion VND to social welfare activities. In particular, in the first few months of 2025, the company also supported the construction of 15 houses for the poor in Tuong Duong and Thanh Chuong districts. They also provided educational support and assistance to victims of natural disasters in Tuong Duong with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND. These small actions not only demonstrate a humanitarian spirit but also contribute to fostering a good relationship between the company and the people in the project area.

The unit focuses on enhancing management efficiency, linking emulation with the identification, development, and replication of advanced models to spread the value of contributions throughout the entire system.

Furthermore, the company also aims to continue innovating the content and format of emulation campaigns, ensuring they are substantive, effective, and appropriate to the actual conditions and psychology of the employees. It will continue to promote the campaign to study and follow the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh. It will harmoniously combine thematic emulation movements with regular emulation, and individual and collective emulation, to create a healthy competitive environment that stimulates creativity and the aspiration for advancement among each employee.
