Nam Irrigation Company Limited ensures irrigation for over 33,000 hectares of rice fields.
On the morning of May 27th, Nam Irrigation Company Limited held a conference to evaluate the spring crop production in 2025 and to prepare for the summer-autumn crop season.
The conference was chaired by Mr. Bui Van Hao – Chairman and Director of the Company, with the participation of representatives from the affiliated Irrigation Enterprises and Mr. Nguyen Hao – Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
Nam Nghe An Irrigation Company Limited is responsible for managing and operating irrigation works to serve irrigation, drainage, and water supply for the districts of Nam Dan, Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, and Vinh City, with a total service area of over 61,238 hectares per year.
In addition, the company also undertakes disaster prevention and control tasks and is the investor in projects for maintenance, repair, renovation, upgrading, and new construction of irrigation works within the system, aiming to improve the efficiency of irrigation and water supply. Currently, the company has 464 employees, with 100% of them having stable jobs.
The Spring crop season of 2025 took place under challenging weather conditions; however, the company made efforts to ensure irrigation water supply for over 33,000 hectares of agricultural land. The management and operation of the irrigation system were carried out effectively, especially the operation of 43 water pumping stations at reservoirs using scientific methods. As a result, water supply efficiency was improved, promptly meeting production needs and receiving recognition and high praise from water users and the public.
Currently, the company is the investor for projects to upgrade and renovate pumping stations and reservoirs, as well as complete the drainage system in the Nam Dan area. These projects are being actively implemented, ensuring that the required volume, quality, and progress are met.
At the conference, Nam Irrigation Company Limited presented preparations for production in the summer-autumn and 2025 seasons, and also outlined measures to prevent and mitigate natural disasters in 2025.
Forecasts indicate that from now until the end of 2025, the company will face many difficulties due to complex weather patterns, with unpredictable risks of drought and floods. The existing infrastructure within the system is damaged and deteriorating, requiring timely maintenance and repair.
Mr. Bui Van Hao, Chairman and Director of the company, said: To cope with this situation, right from the beginning of the season, the company has organized the dredging of canals and ditches, maintained and repaired irrigation works, and maintained machinery and equipment to ensure that the production process is not interrupted. The company pays special attention to operating the works according to procedures, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The company conducts regular inspections to detect minor malfunctions and damage early and repair them promptly, preventing any impact on the production process. In addition, the company checks the water quality before, during, and after pumping, and provides timely recommendations and notifications to local authorities regarding water quality, ensuring efficient and economical water use.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hao, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, acknowledged and highly appreciated the company's efforts over the past period.
To improve operational efficiency in the upcoming production season, the comrade suggested that the company focus on implementing several key areas such as: reviewing, maintaining, and promptly repairing damaged infrastructure to ensure effective irrigation; closely coordinating with local authorities to manage water resources efficiently; and applying digital technology in the management and operation of the irrigation system, contributing to improved service quality and ensuring water security for irrigation.
With outstanding achievements in 2024, the company was honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for "Outstanding Performance in Completing Tasks and Leading the Patriotic Emulation Movement in 2024". At the same time, 4 enterprise collectives, 4 specialized departments, and 3 key project management stations of the company were also classified as "Outstanding Performance".
