"On behalf of everyone, I would like to sincerely apologize to the audience yesterday who spent money and time buying tickets to watch the match between Ho Chi Minh City and Long An. Although the fault did not come from our team, the uncontrollable situation on the field greatly affected the quality of the match and the audience's emotions.

Personally, every day and every hour I always try my best to contribute my small efforts to build and regain the trust of the country's football fans little by little by trying to learn, change the operating model to be more professional, research and train young professionals according to international models, honestly, and importantly, the top principle is to say no to negativity, etc.

With respect for the audience who supported the HCM City team, I feel I have the responsibility to apologize even though the mistake was not ours. No matter who says I'm being flashy, I hope this inconvenience does not affect your feelings for the team, and I think the HCM City players tried very hard in yesterday's match, so they deserve respect.

After less than an hour of posting, Cong Vinh’s apology received 7,000 likes from the online community and more than 100 shares. Many comments agreed with Cong Vinh’s professional behavior and said that Long An players had not behaved tactfully.

However, some people also think that the Ho Chi Minh City team could have been more noble by kicking the penalty wide.

The unusual incident occurred in the V-League round 6 match on the evening of February 19 between Ho Chi Minh City and Long An. When Long An was leading 1-0, the referee awarded Ho Chi Minh City a controversial penalty kick. In the 80th minute of the match, Ho Chi Minh City was awarded another penalty kick, causing a strong reaction from the coaching staff and Long An players.
