Cong Vinh and Xuan Truong are among the nominees for the best player of the tournament, while Van Thanh is competing for the most promising young player award.

Goal.com is holding a poll for individual awards at the AFF Cup, including: best player of the tournament; best coach, goalkeeper, striker, midfielder and defender; and most promising young player.

In the category of best player of the tournament, the Vietnamese national team has two nominees: striker Le Cong Vinh and midfielder Luong Xuan Truong. These two Vietnamese stars currently have 2% (31 votes – Cong Vinh) and 15% (Xuan Truong - 252 votes) respectively.

There are a total of 12 nominees for this category, in addition to the two names mentioned above, there are Boaz Salossa and Stefano Lilipaly (Indonesia), Chan Vathanaka (Cambodia), Aung Thu and Zaw Min Tun (Myanmar), Hassan Sunny (Singapore), Rizal Ghazali (Malaysia), Stephan Schrock (Philippines), Teerasil Dangda and Kawin (Thailand).

In the best striker category, Le Cong Vinh is nominated alongside two other veteran strikers, Boaz Salossa and Teerasil Dangda. Of course, Dangda dominates, with 200 votes, accounting for 71% so far.

In the category of most promising young player, the Vietnamese national team has defender Vu Van Thanh as a contender. Competing alongside the HAGL star are Chan Vathanaka and Chrerng Polroth (Cambodia), and Aung Thu (Myanmar).

The young Myanmar star has received 3,341 votes so far, accounting for 51% and far ahead of his rivals. Van Thanh only has 220 votes, or 3%. Chan Vathanaka is in second place with 2,353 votes (36%).
