The Italian manager is uncertain about his chances of staying at Stamford Bridge next season, even if they finish in the top four of the Premier League.

In a press conference ahead of the 32nd round of the Premier League, when asked by a reporter about his future after the 2017-2018 season, Antonio Conte shared: "Honestly, I don't know. This is a matter for the club, not for me."

The future of the former Juventus manager has been a big question since the start of the season, with doubts surrounding whether he will follow in the footsteps of Carlo Ancelotti, Roberto Di Matteo, and Jose Mourinho – managers who were sacked just one season after winning a title. Conte has weathered the early stages of the season, but now his only remaining chance is to win the FA Cup. He has also clashed with Chelsea's leadership over personnel plans and has repeatedly expressed his dissatisfaction in the press.

Conte extended his contract with Chelsea in the summer of 2017. If he were sacked at the end of the 2017-2018 season, he would receive approximately $12.5 million in compensation for the remaining year of his contract."My contract is still valid, but I don't know what will happen after a year, or even a single match. A coach's future depends heavily on the results on the pitch," Conte revealed.

Despite the threat of dismissal hanging over his head, the 48-year-old coach remained optimistic. He stated: "I think passion is the most important thing in football, whether for a player or a coach. Without passion, it's very difficult to achieve success. When I was a player, I showed moments of passion on and off the pitch. I'm not the quiet type of player, and I believe that players must show passion and enthusiasm every time they step onto the field."

At the start of the 2017-2018 season, Chelsea let go of several experienced players such as John Terry, Diego Costa, and Branislav Ivanovic. According to Conte, this was an inevitable process. "To accomplish this, you need passion, then you develop young players, improve their fighting spirit. Currently, we have many players who always go out onto the pitch with a fighting spirit to achieve our goals."

The Blues are currently outside the top four, five points behind the Champions League qualification spots. Chelsea's chances of breaking into the top four will become clearer if they beat fourth-placed Tottenham tonight, April 1st."This is an extremely important match, as it directly affects our chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season. We need to win and maintain maximum focus for this game," Conte emphasized.
