According to Sport Mail, Chelsea have just announced that manager Conte has signed a new contract. This contract also only runs until 2019, but the Italian coach will receive a higher salary. Accordingly, the 47-year-old strategist will receive £9 million per year.

Under his previous contract, Coach Conte's salary was £6.5 million per year. With the new salary, the Italian coach has become the highest-paid manager in Chelsea's history. "I am very happy to sign a new contract. I worked hard to help the team win the championship in my first season. That is an achievement I am very proud of. I want to continue enjoying success with them," Sport Mail quoted coach Conte as saying.

Meanwhile, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: "Manager Conte has had a great season in charge. He adapted to English football very quickly and led us to the championship. The new contract shows the trust we have in him. We hope Conte will continue to help Chelsea achieve success in domestic competitions as well as the Champions League."
