(Baonghean.vn) - On May 18th,The Traffic Control Team 1-48 ( thuộc the Nghe An Traffic Police Department) announced that they recently returned a motorbike to a resident in Binh Dinh province that had been stolen two years ago.
Earlier on April 8th, at KM 28 on National Highway 48, a task force from Traffic Control Team 1.48 spotted a young man riding a Yamaha Exciter motorcycle with license plate 37L1-036.27 exhibiting suspicious behavior, so they requested him to stop for inspection.

At the time of inspection, the motorcyclist, Nguyen Duc Hung (born in 1983, residing in Hamlet 3, Quynh Thang Commune, Quynh Luu District), could not present a driver's license, vehicle registration certificate, or civil liability insurance certificate. Due to these violations, the task force proceeded to issue an administrative violation report and temporarily impound the vehicle as per regulations.
However, one month after the vehicle was impounded, the offender still did not come to the authorities to resolve the issue. Suspecting that the vehicle was using a fake license plate, the authorities conducted a vehicle inspection and identified the owner as Nguyen Dinh Thao (born in 1988, residing in Hamlet 13, Quynh Xuan Commune, Quynh Luu District).
However, upon physically inspecting the vehicle and license plate, the team determined that the license plate did not match the engine and chassis numbers of the impounded vehicle. After re-checking the engine and chassis numbers and verifying the owner's information, the police learned that the vehicle in question bore license plate 77N4-7799 and was actually owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan (born in 1966, residing in An Nho Town, Binh Dinh Province).
After identifying the vehicle owner, Traffic Control Team 1-48 contacted the Binh Dinh Police and learned that the vehicle they were holding was stolen in 2014.
On May 17th, the team completed the procedures and handed the vehicle back to its owner. Upon receiving the vehicle from the authorities, the representative of the residents was moved and expressed gratitude to the Nghe An Traffic Police for recovering the vehicle after it had been stolen two years prior.
