On the afternoon of November 8th, the Linh Trung Police Station (Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City) announced that they are temporarily detaining Nguyen Quoc Thanh (29 years old, residing in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City) for investigation into the crime of robbery.

Accordingly, at 12:10 PM on November 8th, a patrol team from the Rach Chiec Traffic Police Department (Road and Rail Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police) was on duty on Hanoi Highway (in Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City) when they spotted a young man riding a motorbike snatching a handbag from two women riding motorbikes in the same direction on the highway.

Immediately, a patrol team of four traffic police officers in two special vehicles pursued the robbery suspect.

Seeing the traffic police sirens blaring in pursuit, the snatch thief became even more reckless, speeding away, making it very difficult for the traffic police to keep up while also ensuring the safety of other road users.

In just about 15 minutes, the patrol team, driving their special vehicle, approached and apprehended the robbery suspect on a road in Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc District. Afterward, the officers handed over the suspect, the vehicle, and the stolen goods to the ward police for further investigation.

At the police station, the suspect identified himself as Nguyen Quoc Thanh (29 years old, residing in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City). Through questioning, the police determined that Thanh had a previous conviction for theft and had only been released from prison in June 2016.
