Old woman in Nghe An died from rabid dog bite
(Baonghean.vn) - An old woman living in Xang Coc village, Chau Binh commune (Quy Chau - Nghe An) died after having a seizure due to being bitten by a rabid dog.
The victim was Ms. Lang Thi Nghiep (80 years old) who died at 5:00 p.m. on November 4, 2019. Before that, the old woman showed signs of rabies and was taken to the emergency room but did not survive.
Mr. Lang Van Chinh - Chairman of Chau Binh Commune People's Committee said: Nearly 2 weeks ago, Ms. Nghiep went to visit her neighbor and was bitten on the leg by the dog raised by this family.
The angry homeowner beat the dog to death and killed it to eat. As for Mrs. Nghiep, she was negligent and did not get a rabies vaccination.
Currently, the victim's family is carrying out burial procedures according to indigenous Thai traditions.
"The incident was very heartbreaking. If the family had taken the old lady for a rabies vaccination in time, such an unfortunate incident would not have happened," Mr. Lang Van Chinh sadly shared.
