An 83-year-old man was hospitalized after being beaten by chicken thieves.
Caught stealing two fighting roosters worth millions of dong, a 16-year-old boy attacked an elderly man, rendering him unconscious.
On April 12th, the Sa Dec City Police (Dong Thap province) temporarily detained Tran Duy Tien (16 years old) for investigation into the crime of robbery.

Yesterday afternoon, Tien broke into the house of Mr. Xe (83 years old, residing in An Hoa ward) and stole two fighting roosters kept in cages. Each rooster was worth several million dong.
The thief was busy carrying the chickens away when the homeowner discovered him and shouted for help. The teenage boy rushed over, punched and kicked Mr. Xe until he was unconscious, and then fled with the "loot".
The victim was rushed to the hospital by his family in critical condition, with bruises all over his body and a fractured larynx. Due to his life-threatening condition, the elderly man was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment.
Later that evening, Tien was arrested.
