Mr. Nguyen Quang Phuong (70 years old, Bai Lim village) said that currently, elephants in Pu Mat National Park often come to destroy people's fields, threatening their lives. Every time the elephants come, people chase them away using traditional methods but to no avail. "I suggest that the authorities find a solution to avoid conflicts like the current situation," said Mr. Phuong.
The herd of elephants that Mr. Phuong mentioned has about 15. They usually forage in Pu Mat and some neighboring areas such as Phuc Son and Thanh Duc communes (Thanh Chuong district). In recent years, when dozens of hectares of bamboo and banana forests were cut down to plant rubber trees, food sources were limited, this herd of elephants became aggressive. Especially after a male elephant leader was killed for his tusks, they often returned to the village to find food and conflicted with people. There have been many cases of casualties due to elephant attacks.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Duong expressed concern about the skyrocketing market prices. “In recent years, we have built many hydroelectric and thermal power plants, but why do electricity prices keep increasing?” Mr. Duong said, adding that in addition to electricity, the continuous increase in gasoline prices is also a concern for people.
This voter also requested that the authorities have strict sanctions to deal with those who spread false rumors on social networks. “The Party and the State have led many resistance wars, and a lot of blood has been shed to have the life we have today. But I am very concerned about the posting of false news, spreading it on social networks, causing public confusion, affecting security and order.”

Regarding concerns about wild elephants, Mr. Hoang Xuan Cuong - Vice Chairman of Anh Son District People's Committee said that, in response to the conflict between elephants and humans in Phuc Son Commune, a few years ago the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to build an elephant-prevention trench along the mountainside to prevent them. However, this project has not yet been completed, leading to elephants continuing to return to the village.
"We will accept this opinion of the voters and will send a document to the project investor to fix it in the near future," said Mr. Cuong.
