Mr. Nguyen Quang Phuong (70 years old, Bai Lim village) said that the elephant herd in Pu Mat National Park frequently comes to destroy the villagers' fields and threatens people's lives. Each time the elephants come, they try to drive them away using traditional methods, but without success. "I request that the authorities find a solution to avoid the current conflicts," Mr. Phuong said.
The elephant herd that Mr. Phuong mentioned consists of about 15 elephants. They usually graze in Pu Mat and some neighboring areas such as Phuc Son and Thanh Duc communes (Thanh Chuong district). In recent years, with dozens of hectares of bamboo and banana forests being cleared to plant rubber trees, the food source has become limited, and this herd has become aggressive. Especially after a leading male elephant was killed for its ivory, they frequently return to the village to forage for food and clash with people. There have been numerous cases of injuries and fatalities due to elephant attacks.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Duong expressed concern about the soaring market prices. "In recent years, we have built many hydroelectric and thermal power plants, but why are electricity prices constantly increasing?" Mr. Duong said, adding that besides electricity, the continuous increase in gasoline and diesel prices is also a concern for the people.
This voter also suggested that authorities should severely punish those who spread false rumors on social media. “The Party and the State have led through many wars of resistance, and much blood has been shed to achieve the life we have today. But I am deeply concerned about the widespread posting of false information on social media, causing public panic and affecting security and order.”

Regarding concerns about the wild elephant herd, Mr. Hoang Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Anh Son District People's Committee, said that due to conflicts between elephants and humans in Phuc Son commune, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision a few years ago to build an elephant-proof trench along the mountain slope to prevent them from entering. However, this project has not yet been completed, leading to the continued return of elephants to the village.
"We will take this feedback from the voters into consideration and will send a written request to the project's investor to address it in the near future," Mr. Cuong said.
