Voters in Cua Lo petition the National Assembly to implement measures to control land prices.

(Baonghean.vn) - Voters in Cua Lo town have petitioned the National Assembly to implement solutions to control land prices and address the artificial "fever" caused by inflated land prices in the market, which has affected those who genuinely need land.

Continuing the program of meeting with voters before the 3rd session of the 15th National Assembly, on the afternoon of May 4th, in Nghi Tan ward, Cua Lo town, National Assembly deputies Nguyen Van Chi - Vice Chair of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee; and Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chair of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, held a meeting with voters in Nghi Tan ward and representatives of the leaders of other wards in the town.

VotersNguyen Hong Son (Nghi Tan ward) expressed his concern and worry about the corruption situation, suggesting that the National Assembly should study and find more effective solutions to address it. These solutions should include strict punishment, deterrence, and thorough recovery of assets obtained through corruption, preventing the disregard for the law.

Citing the current shortcomings in land management and use, such as land encroachment; unauthorized land allocation, valuation, bidding, and leasing; and inconsistent land planning and exploitation leading to land price surges and land-related corruption, voter Nguyen Hong Son proposed that the National Assembly study and amend the current Land Law to address these issues.

Also concerned about land issues, voter Hoang Thi Hai Yen (Nghi Tan ward) suggested that the National Assembly should have solutions to control land prices; and address the current situation of "stalled" projects and projects with delayed progress.

Many voters also reflected on and suggested that the National Assembly pay attention to policies for soldiers who participated in the resistance war against the American imperialists but have not yet received benefits for wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, or victims of Agent Orange; and to improve the benefits for commemorating fallen soldiers.

Voters also suggested that the competent authorities should provide insurance for those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution; increase allowances for those working at the village level; and implement a policy of waiving tuition fees for junior high school students…

Voters also raised concerns about shortcomings in education and training reforms, as well as transportation infrastructure.

At the conclusion of the meeting with voters, representatives from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Cua Lo town addressed and clarified several issues within their jurisdiction.

Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, also acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and affirmed that the opinions and suggestions of the voters were all very valid.

Representative Vo Thi Minh Sinh also stated that many of the issues raised by voters in Cua Lo town at this voter consultation meeting are also common concerns of voters in many localities, which the Provincial National Assembly Delegation has received and reported to the National Assembly Standing Committee, especially those related to anti-corruption efforts; delayed projects; and land issues.

These are also issues that the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government are grappling with, and to continue creating positive change, further research and amendment are necessary; therefore, we continue to hope that voters and the people will continue to cooperate, offer suggestions, and contribute their wisdom.
