Voters in Cua Lo Town: Support is needed for small and medium-sized enterprises regarding BOT fees.

(Baonghean.vn) - How to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to encourage their development was a key topic of discussion at the voter consultation meeting in Cua Lo town on the morning of May 4th.

At this meeting with voters in Cua Lo Town, the National Assembly delegates focused on gathering feedback from voters on the draft Law on Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. Therefore, the meeting was attended by a large number of voters, including representatives of businesses in Cua Lo Town and representatives of the Town's Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.

The draft Law on Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) consists of 4 chapters and 38 articles. Regarding the draft law on supporting SMEs, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tien argued that the term "micro-enterprise" should not be used in the draft law; the draft is very long and lacks focus, making it difficult to implement. He suggested that sub-laws should be added to provide specific criteria for supporting businesses. Regarding loan capital, specific regulations outlining state incentives for SMEs are needed.

Regarding support for market expansion, the requirement that businesses must participate in the product supply chain should not be included as a criterion, because not all SMEs are capable of participating in the product consumption chain.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vo - Vo Minh Transport Trading and Service Company - wishes for SMEs to receive interest rate support during holidays and weekends; support in tax declaration when converting from individual business households to enterprises; support in terms of premises, as businesses face significant difficulties in finding suitable locations under current regulations; and support for transport businesses regarding BOT road tolls.

Also at the conference, Mr. Vo Van Tuat from Nghi Thuy ward suggested that Decree 67/ND-CP has helped fishermen in Nghi Thuy ward build three offshore fishing vessels, contributing to the protection of maritime border sovereignty.

However, during the extended period of this Decree's validity in 2017, the bank's disbursement progress was too slow, causing difficulties for fishermen in borrowing capital to build offshore fishing vessels; therefore, we request that the bank's leadership and relevant authorities pay attention to supporting Cua Lo fishermen in obtaining timely loans.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tien, Vice Chairman of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, suggested that the State should take measures to manage the content, methods, and ways of advertising on mass media regarding the quality of medicines that misrepresent their actual effects, causing misunderstanding and danger to users.

Ms. Nguyen Van Chi responded to comments and suggestions from voters, including issues related to the Draft Law on Supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises; and explained some provisions stipulated in the draft law.

Accordingly, the draft law proposes that the primary objective should be to address the obstacles and difficulties that SMEs are facing in their business operations; and to establish a credit guarantee fund to support SMEs…

Earlier, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien reported to the voters on the expected agenda of the 3rd session of the 14th National Assembly; some issues that voters in Cua Lo town had raised in previous sessions; and issues that the authorities at all levels had resolved.
