Voters in the coastal areas of Nghe An province enthusiastically exercised their right to vote.

From early morning on March 15th, along with the rest of the country, voters in the coastal areas of Nghe An province participated in a national event – ​​electing representatives to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. From small alleys to inter-village roads, voters, dressed neatly and holding their voter cards, arrived at polling stations with smiles to exercise their rights and civic duties on this great national day.

In coastal communes, polling stations were well-organized and decorated with colorful flags and flowers. From early morning, the task force was fully present to check the organization, ensure security and order, and guide voters through the voting procedures correctly.

In Duc Long hamlet, Quynh Phu commune, from early morning, many elderly voters and fishermen were present at the polling station. Voter Bui Thi Quyen (80 years old) said that she has participated in many elections, but each time she feels emotional. Being able to personally choose representatives for the people is a great source of pride. This time, despite her age, she still came to vote on time.

The atmosphere on election day in the coastal region was warm due to the spirit of solidarity and close ties. At polling stations, village and hamlet officials, youth union members, and women's association members diligently guided the elderly and first-time voters, ensuring that all voters could exercise their right to vote smoothly. For those who were elderly, frail, or ill, the polling station staff brought supplementary ballot boxes to their homes.

Fishermen say that despite being busy earning a living, they still try to make time to vote. This is both a right and a responsibility of every citizen.

Mr. Tran Xuan Khang, Secretary of the Duc Long Hamlet Party Branch, said that the hamlet has 487 voters. From 7:00 AM on March 15th, residents came to the hamlet's cultural center to cast their votes in accordance with regulations. Voters were given detailed instructions on the voting process and procedures by officials and the election committee, ensuring the election proceeded safely, smoothly, and legally. By 9:00 AM the same day, most voters in the hamlet had completed casting their ballots.

In Phu Lien coastal village, Quynh Phu commune, the atmosphere on election day was lively and enthusiastic. The village has 755 voters, including 72 fishermen, many of whom took advantage of the opportunity to vote early before heading out to sea. Mr. Ho Quoc Cuong, Secretary of the Phu Lien Village Party Branch, said that by 9:30 AM on the same day, most voters in the area had completed voting, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety.

Tran Minh Chung (born in 2006) from Phu Lien village, holding his voter card for the first time, expressed his joy and pride. He said that this is a significant milestone, demonstrating the rights and responsibilities of young people towards their homeland and country.

Voters in coastal areas are particularly interested in choosing representatives who are conscientious, competent, and knowledgeable about the lives of fishermen and the local situation. Before election day, information about the candidates' biographies and action programs is publicly posted at polling stations and village cultural centers. Many voters take the time to carefully research and discuss with each other to consider and choose the person worthy of representing the will and aspirations of the people.

Mr. Tran Viet Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Quynh Phu commune, said: "The voter turnout rate in many coastal communes reached a high level right from the morning. This reflects the people's trust in the role of local elected bodies and also shows that political awareness is increasingly being raised. For voters in coastal areas, the ballot is not only a right but also an expectation placed on policies directly related to their livelihoods, infrastructure development, marine environmental protection, and social security."

Alongside the festive atmosphere, security and order were also strictly enforced. Police and militia forces were stationed at polling stations, coordinating with election committees to promptly handle any arising situations, creating a sense of security for voters participating in the election.

After the voting was completed, many people lingered to chat and exchange ideas about their hopes for the new term of the People's Councils at all levels. Conversations revolving around the development of the marine economy, supporting fishermen in venturing out to sea, and building new coastal rural areas reflected the people's expectations of the elected representatives.

The enthusiastic and vibrant atmosphere on election day left a beautiful impression, showing that coastal voters always stand alongside the country on its path of development, with responsibility, faith, and hope for a better future.
