Cua Lo, the call of the sea in all four seasons…
Over the past few days, information about the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee agreeing on the plan to organize the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026 "Four Seasons of the Sea Calling" has flooded social media platforms like Facebook. Looking at the discussions, the vast majority are excited and eagerly anticipating the event, with only a very small minority expressing concerns.

Over the past few days, information about the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee agreeing on the plan to organize the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026 "Four Seasons of the Sea Calling" has flooded social media platforms like Facebook. There have been many discussions, but the vast majority are very excited and eagerly awaiting the event, with only a very small minority expressing concerns.
Personally, when I came across the title "The Call of the Sea in All Four Seasons," I, like most people, felt very excited. Having year-round tourism has been a long-held aspiration for Cua Lo, but one that has yet to be realized. With this title, it can be confidently stated that the province will create a strong impetus for Cua Lo to fulfill this aspiration.
But after carefully reviewing the comments expressing concern on some Facebook accounts, I also have some… concerns.
The first,Regarding infrastructure for coastal tourism.
The "core" tourist area of Cua Lo, consisting of the beach and the forest park east of Binh Minh road, currently has some "unclear" points due to the incomplete clearance of structures belonging to some organizations in the forest park, and because some investors are still delaying fulfilling their investment commitments.
Furthermore, during the 2025 rainy season, the forest park area connected to the beach suffered numerous negative impacts. The Party Committee and the government of Cua Lo ward were very aware of this and organized many activities to beautify and clean up the beach, forest park, and areas serving tourism.
With the support of the province, Cua Lo ward has also proactively called for social mobilization to create resources for planting thousands of new coconut trees; or, more recently, is investing in building a shower system… However, some impacts of the 2025 storms still remain, such as some cracks on the walking path and embankment; or the deterioration of the green areas in a forest park…

Monday,Regarding the quality of the activities planned to be held throughout the year at the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026, will these activities be attractive enough to draw tourists from other localities to Cua Lo?
Clearly, it's impossible to assess quality before the events even take place. However, looking at other provinces, especially those neighboring areas with similar events like Hue and Da Nang, raises concerns. For the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition to achieve such a resounding success in its first edition in 2008, the entire political system of the city on the Han River invested a full year in meticulous preparation. Similarly, the Hue Festival, to create a series of massive, unique, and internationally-recognized cultural and artistic activities, required a tremendous investment and preparation over a long period...
But despite some lingering concerns, the overall feeling is one of joy and anticipation.
To organize the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026 "Four Seasons Calling from the Sea," the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee has directed the implementation of very clear and specific work groups. These include focusing on urban infrastructure improvements to serve beach tourism, upgrading the transportation system and public lighting; investing in and completing performance stages on the beach; maintaining regular beach cleaning and a green, clean, and beautiful urban landscape; and emphasizing the development of a friendly, civilized, safe, and hospitable tourism culture in Cua Lo.
Research should be conducted to expand and diversify tourism products and activities associated with unique events such as culinary heritage festivals; exhibitions of typical OCOP products from localities; hosting international sports competitions such as golf, jet skiing, beach volleyball, and beauty pageants… The development of fishing village tourism, coastal routes, spiritual tourism, and connecting typical tourist destinations and routes within and outside the province should be promoted…
Although it will be difficult to achieve perfection right from the first time organizing a large event like the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026 "Four Seasons of the Sea Calling," only by doing it can we learn from experience and improve in the following years.
If we're too afraid to take action because of difficulties, when will our province ever have a Cua Lo where the sea beckons in all four seasons?
