Tourism activities in Cua Lo in 2025 took place amidst many difficulties but achieved remarkable results.

In 2025, tourism activities in Cua Lo faced numerous difficulties and challenges stemming from the unstable global economic situation, the administrative unit merger, and extreme weather events such as storms, floods, and continuous natural disasters. However, with the close guidance and support of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and other levels of government, along with the proactive and decisive management of the local authorities, Cua Lo tourism has strived to overcome these difficulties and achieved remarkable results.
Despite facing numerous negative impacts, the total number of tourists visiting Cua Lo in 2025 is estimated at 4.76 million, equivalent to 95% compared to the same period and reaching 81% of the annual plan. Of these, the number of overnight stays is estimated at 1.685 million. Total revenue from tourism and service activities is estimated at 4,935 billion VND, equivalent to 96% compared to the same period and reaching 82% of the annual plan.
To achieve these results, leadership, direction, and management were carried out in a synchronized and consistent manner. The People's Committee of Vinh City (formerly) and the People's Committee of Cua Lo Ward issued many important documents and implemented specific plans such as: Organizing the Cua Lo Beach Festival and Tourism Year; Organizing the Launch Ceremony to respond to the call for a green, clean, and beautiful Cua Lo Beach; Establishing inspection teams and inter-agency inspection groups to improve urban planning, tourism order, and handle violations; Implementing warning, rescue, and search and rescue operations for tourists swimming in the sea…
Regarding urban beautification and environmental sanitation, Cua Lo has carried out planning, upgrading, and beautifying the forest park area, decorative lighting systems, and street lighting at Binh Minh Square. More than 100 households engaged in unauthorized business activities have been completely relocated, and encroachments on traffic safety corridors have been removed. In particular, after typhoons No. 5 and No. 10, the locality proactively implemented comprehensive measures to mitigate damage.
To ensure the safety of tourists, the ward has developed a plan to maintain security and order, and rescue operations have been strengthened. In the first 10 months of the year, 438 people were searched for and assisted.
Despite the achievements, Cua Lo tourism in 2025 still faces several challenges that need to be addressed, mainly due to limited investment resources, inconsistent infrastructure, and the impact of natural disasters; many tourist accommodation facilities are dilapidated; there are still issues with the management of four-wheeled electric vehicles, street vendors, and touting; environmental sanitation is sometimes inadequate in certain areas; and the quality of the workforce serving tourism is still limited in some aspects…
The year 2026 is identified as the beginning of a new cycle, a new term, with the determination to create momentum for the recovery and sustainable development of Cua Lo tourism. Accordingly, the goal is to welcome 5.2 million tourists, an increase of 8.5% compared to 2025; and achieve 5,360 billion VND in revenue, an increase of 8.6% compared to 2025. With that goal in mind, the conference has set out specific key tasks.
The conference heard many high-quality presentations aimed at sharing experiences, suggestions, proposals, and feedback to develop tourism in Cua Lo ward to become increasingly professional. Topics related to new tourism models, infrastructure upgrades, security assurance, and tourism digitalization received many insightful and feasible opinions.
In his address to the conference, Comrade Ngo Duc Kien – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Cua Lo Ward Party Committee – frankly acknowledged the limitations of Cua Lo tourism in 2025 stemming from policies, mechanisms, and management systems. Expressing hope in the dedication of relevant individuals and units, he stated that to revive Cua Lo tourism, the government, businesses, and people need to work together and unite, avoiding the practice of prohibiting what cannot be managed. With the goal of making Cua Lo a tourism growth hub, every citizen needs to be a tourism ambassador, working together to build the Cua Lo tourism brand. Thanking the provincial leaders, agencies, departments, and relevant units for their attention, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Cua Lo Ward expressed confidence that Cua Lo will see many changes in 2026. He also pledged that Cua Lo will seize new opportunities and policies, viewing them as resources to return to the tourism race with renewed vigor.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Cao Minh Tu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo Ward, thanked and acknowledged the suggestions made at the meeting. He also outlined the ward's key tasks for the coming period.
On this occasion, the Conference also presented awards to 7 collectives and individuals who had achieved outstanding results in tourism activities in 2025.
