Cua Lo strives to welcome and serve 3.4 million tourists in 2023

Impressive results

After 2 years of being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, by 2022, Cua Lo tourism has restarted with many difficulties and challenges. Receiving the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and all levels and sectors in state management, investment attraction, event organization... to attract visitors, Cua Lo tourism has recovered quickly and achieved many impressive results.

Opening ceremony of Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2022 and art program with the theme "Cua Lo love the sea and aspiration to shine", with the highlight being the fireworks displayfireworkThe 15-minute event marked the beginning of a prosperous year of tourism in Cua Lo.

After the opening of the Festival, the town organized a series of cultural, sports and festival activities such as: Human Chess Tournament; Street Music Festival; Art program about Vi and Giam; Fishing Festival; Requiem Festival, candle lighting to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs and Lantern and Hot Air Balloon Festival; Open Bicycle Race for the first Sea Chrysanthemum Cup... attracting a large number of tourists and people to participate.

Tourism business activities in Cua Lo have improved and achieved important results. The total number of visitors is estimated at 3,052,000 (an increase of 197% of the yearly plan); of which the number of overnight guests is estimated at 1,036,000 (201% of the yearly plan). Revenue from service and tourism activities is estimated at 3,218 billion VND (211% of the yearly plan).

In 2022, Cua Lo will put into use 3 accommodation facilities with nearly 400 rooms, the whole town currently has 299 accommodation facilities, capable of serving 30,000 guests/day and night; 2 more accommodation facilities will be ranked as 3-star standard, bringing the total number of 2-5 star accommodation facilities in the whole town to 25, meeting the needs of activities and organizing national and international events.

Prepare for another "explosive" year

In 2023, Cua Lo town is determined to continue promoting its advantages, creating new tourism products and exploiting a number of high-quality services, organizing national cultural and sports events to attract tourists. Strive to achieve the target of welcoming 3,400,000 visitors (up 11% compared to 2022); tourism service revenue reaching 3,550 billion VND (up 11% compared to 2022); appraising and recognizing 4-5 more tourist accommodation establishments meeting 2-5 star standards.

At the Conference, delegates discussed the directions and tasks for 2023, focusing on urban beautification after clearing the row of kiosks east of Binh Minh Street; environmental sanitation, ensuring security, order and safety for tourists; solutions for planning business services west of Binh Minh Street...

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Director of the Department of Tourism, Deputy Head of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee acknowledged the achievements of Cua Lo town. At the same time, he noted that the town should continue to do better in environmental sanitation, ensuring security, order and safety for tourists; speed up the progress of upgrading Binh Minh road; continue to coordinate with all levels and sectors to prepare for a year of "explosive" tourism...

At the Conference, Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Cua Lo Town Party Committee expressed her gratitude to the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and press agencies. In addition, she directed all levels and branches of the town to focus on planning and investing in infrastructure for tourism development, selecting activities to "activate" the new tourist season. Focus on propaganda and promotion of Cua Lo tourism image; develop a system of quality products, prepare human resources... to attract tourists.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded the Cua Lo Tourism Journalism Award. The Award received 156 entries in 3 years, of which more than 100 entries were in 2022. Through 2 preliminary and final rounds, the Organizing Committee selected 41 outstanding entries to award, including 3 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 13 third prizes and 17 consolation prizes. Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association and Cua Lo Town People's Committee jointly organized the launch of the Cua Lo Tourism Journalism Award 2023.

Also on this occasion, the People's Committee of Cua Lo town summarized and awarded prizes to 14 winning works of the Songwriting Contest about Cua Lo (including 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 8 Encouragement prizes).

At the Conference, 5 groups and 5 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in developing Cua Lo tourism. On this occasion, 18 groups and 17 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the People's Committee of Cua Lo town.
