Cyclist Martin Laas wins Sam Son - Vinh stage at Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup 2024

(Baonghean.vn) - Cyclist Martin Laas had an impressive sprint, thereby convincingly winning the Sam Son - Vinh stage at the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup Cycling Race.

On the morning of April 11, the 8th stage of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup Cycling Tournament 2024 took place from Sam Son - Thanh Hoa to Vinh City - Nghe An.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Thai Thanh Chung - Deputy General Director of Ho Chi Minh City Television Station.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports and many people.

The Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup 2024 journey takes place in a joyful atmosphere nationwide towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), 70 years of the liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), 49 years of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), and 134 years of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024).

This year's race has the participation of 105 domestic and international professional athletes, from 15 racing teams nationwide and more than 200 amateur athletes from Dien Bien province participating in the response.

Athletes will compete in 25 stages with a total route of more than 2,700 km, along the length of the country and finish at noon on April 30, 2024, at Thong Nhat Park, Ho Chi Minh City.

The 8th stage of the race took place on April 11, starting from Sam Son - Thanh Hoa to Vinh City - Nghe An with a length of 152 km.

At the end of the race, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes including: Road prizes, individual prizes for stage 8, team prizes; awarded white, blue, orange and yellow jerseys to the winning athletes.

Accordingly, Martin Laas of team 620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long won stage 8; Timofei Ivanov of Ho Chi Minh City Vinama team maintained the yellow jersey; the green jersey belonged to Petr Rikunov (Loc Troi An Giang Group); Nguyen Tan Hoai (Loc Troi An Giang Group) received the orange jersey and Pham Le Xuan Loc (Military Zone 7) received the white jersey.
