Civil Aviation Authority: No request to stop flights to France

November 15, 2015 10:34

Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Lai Xuan Thanh said the Authority has not yet asked Vietnam Airlines to stop flights to France.

The decision was made at a meeting on the afternoon of November 14 between the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and relevant authorities of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Standing Office of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee after receiving information about the terrorist attacks in Paris, France.

Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines announced that its current flight schedule to/from Paris remains unchanged.

Specifically, on November 14, flight VN19 departing from Hanoi to Paris landed safely at Charles de Gaulle airport at 06:02 (local time, i.e. 13:02, Vietnam time). Passengers checked out of the airport normally.

Flight VN18 departing from Paris to Hanoi is scheduled to take off at 12:10 local time (19:10, Vietnam time).

The French Foreign Ministry said the airport remains open as normal, but security has been tightened, so it may take longer to clear security at the airport.

Vietnam Airlines recommends that passengers traveling from Paris should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before departure time and carefully prepare their travel documents.

Passengers who need to check information about flights to/from France can contact the hotline at +84 4 913685496.

To support passengers, Vietnam Airlines has waived fees for refunds, cancellations, and changes to confirmed flight tickets on flights between Vietnam and France on November 15, 16, and 17.
