Nghe An Market Management Department handles 2,447 cases of commercial fraud

On December 22, Nghe An Market Management Department held a summary of the work in 2022 and deployed tasks for 2023. Attending were comrades: Hoang Anh Duong - Deputy Director General of the General Department of Market Management; Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Huong - Secretary, Director of Nghe An Market Management Department and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

According to the report ofNghe An Market Management DepartmentIn 2022, despite many difficulties, Nghe An market management forces have made efforts to successfully complete the task of fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. In 2022, thanks to the synchronous coordination and drastic direction in the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, Nghe An Market Management Department inspected 2,773 cases, of which 2,447 cases were handled; the total value of fines was over 8.2 billion VND.

Results of handling some common groups of violations: Handling firecrackers, the Market Management Department transferred 2 cases to the Police, with 82 kg of firecrackers, worth 180 million VND, prosecuting 1 case/1 subject. Regarding e-commerce,Detected and handled 22 violations with a total value of 450 million VND. Handled 248 violations of food hygiene and safety, with a total fine of 1 billion 179 million VND. Handled violations of counterfeit goods and fake product labels, during the year handled 32 violations, with a total fine of 503.76 million VND.

11/11 key companies, petrol and oil distributors, and 704 petrol and oil stores signed a commitment not to disrupt supply; committed not to speculate or hoard goods waiting for price increases.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Anh Duong - Deputy Director General of the General Department of Market Management acknowledged the achievements of the Nghe An Market Management Department. In the coming time, the Nghe An Market Management Department needs to promote the achieved results and strive to complete its professional tasks well.

At the end of 2022, consumer demand will increase, and the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods is forecast to become more complicated. The Deputy Director General requested the Nghe An Market Management Department to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the instructions of the Government, the National Steering Committee 389, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the General Department of Market Management, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to effectively deploy the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year.

Along with that, strengthen coordination, fight, and effectively prevent violations. Strengthen control of key routes, management of areas, warehouses, and yards, strengthen inspection of essential goods, prevent speculation, and ensure price stability.
