According to Mr. Bach Hung Dai, Head of DepartmentBac Nghe II Tax Department, the above transaction (if real) is not subject to tax because the agricultural and livestock products produced and sold by people themselves are not subject to tax according to Clause 1, Article 1 of the Law on Value Added Tax.
People need to be vigilant
Recently, in Nghe An and the whole country, there have been continuous transactions of buying and selling mutated orchids with amounts up to billions of VND. The truth of these transactions is still unclear. Some people think that this is a trick of orchid traders and causes unpredictable consequences for society. Therefore, people need to be extremely vigilant.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Nguyen Huu Van, Chairman of the Vietnam Ornamental Plants Association, said: "In general, in terms of ornamental plant transactions, I have never witnessed such a large transaction, the amount of money is up to billions, tens of billions of VND." The Chairman of the Ornamental Plants Association also said that it is currently unclear whether these transactions are real or not because they have not been verified by the police and tax authorities. Orchids are beautiful and rare, but they are only valuable in terms of ornamental plants and "just for viewing", so it is hard to believe that many people, no matter how passionate they are about flowers, would not easily spend billions, tens, or even hundreds of billions of VND like in Quang Ninh recently to buy mutated orchids.
The Department of Competition and Consumer Protection also recommends that people be careful when participating in mutant orchid transactions to avoid major financial losses.
