The digital revolution and the shortage of IT human resources in Vietnam.
(Baonghean.vn) - A new revolution is transforming the world into a digital world. The world is demanding a new workforce with tens of millions of information technology engineers.
At the opening ceremony of the new academic year at FPT University, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh delivered a speech, inspiring nearly 2000 new information technology students. Nghe An Newspaper would like to present this speech:
"Dear students and teachers, today I want to share with you about the future. I want to talk about a digital revolution, also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This revolution is transforming our world today into a new world – the digital world."
In this new world, the real world and the virtual world will become one. These profound changes will also affect human resources. Not every university degree guarantees employment, and not every piece of knowledge will help you establish a career or start a business. The digital world demands a new kind of workforce. Recently, Las Vegas held its first competition on digital platforms; on the first day, 120 people took the test, 119 failed, and only one passed. That person was one of us – from FPT.

This demonstrates a very important sign: Vietnam, for the first time, is taking the lead in this revolution. We urgently need your participation in this global transformation. Therefore, FPT University will have to constantly adapt.
It's safe to say the world is severely short of digital engineers. In cloud computing, we're short about 4.4 million engineers. In big data analytics, we're short about 5 million engineers. In cybersecurity, we're short tens of millions. We want FPT students to become digital revolutionaries, transforming Vietnam and the world. We want many FPT students to become digital defense warriors, ensuring the safety and security not only of Vietnam's information systems but also of information systems in countries around the world. FPT needs you, Vietnam needs you, and the world needs you.”
