The battle between two transgender women, Lam Chi Khanh and Huong Giang Idol.

On the morning of June 22nd, a 4-minute audio recording allegedly of Huong Giang Idol insulting Lam Chi Khanh went viral online. The recording quickly garnered over 20,000 listens and thousands of shares and comments. In the recording, the voice, suspected to be Huong Giang Idol's, used impolite and offensive language towards her senior colleague.

On her personal page, Lam Chi Khanh angrily wrote: "You insulted me, so you should look at yourself to see if you have the right to criticize others when you yourself are not as good as anyone else? Are you jealous of me? I feel sorry for a flower like you. If you like comparing yourself to me, I'll humor you. Let everyone judge who is better... You're so great, so talented. Congratulations. The most beautiful transgender queen in Vietnam, daring to say you're more beautiful than Nong Poy. I see you're not even worthy of carrying Nong Poy's shoes."

Huong Giang and Lam Chi Khanh are both prominent transgender singers in the Vietnamese showbiz industry.

She advised her junior colleague, "If you're in this profession and don't know how to respect those older than you, you'll be doing it." She also announced that she would upload the audio recording to her personal page so that the audience could hear her "clear and melodious voice and understand her better."

Lam Chi Khanh stated that in the audio recording, Huong Giang deliberately imitated a Southern accent and used vulgar language to deceive people. In reality, Huong Giang created a fake Facebook account and used it to "insult" Lam Chi Khanh. According to the transgender singer, more than a month ago, Huong Giang allowed fans to post obscene comments on her Facebook page. Huong Giang also lured Lam Chi Khanh's fans, promising them 5 million VND per month to retaliate by insulting their idol.

Responding to suspicions that Lam Chi Khanh intentionally created a scandal to gain attention, she retorted that she wasn't "idle" enough to cause a fuss because her name was already hot enough in the media. This time, she decided to speak out because Huong Giang Idol insulted her honor.

Responding to Lam Chi Khanh's accusations, Huong Giang Idol's representative denied the allegations. "As a public figure, Huong Giang is always conscious of the need for proper words and actions, and therefore the image she has built over the years has always met the criteria of being cultured. Anyone who is Huong Giang's colleague knows that she would never bring up personal matters or make reckless statements to gain attention."

Huong Giang Idol's manager also stated that the singer is seeking legal representation to verify the audio recording in order to clear her name.
