A life of isolation awaits Donald Trump in the White House.

(Baonghean.vn) - Nearly a week after becoming president-elect, Donald Trump is hiding himself in his gold-plated New York skyscraper. Every day, visitors come, passing through metal detectors and entering Trump's office and residence.

This is seen as a practice to prepare for the isolated, high-security zone awaiting him at the White House.

Unlike President Obama, who used commercial airplanes and lived in a dilapidated Washington apartment for about a year in office, Trump has spent decades living a monastic-like life. While Obama frequently complained about not being able to walk and enjoy a meal at a sidewalk cafe, Trump doesn't seem interested in such things.

For much of the time recently, Mr. Trump has been working in Trump Tower, calling foreign leaders and considering nominations for Cabinet positions.

When he was younger, Trump rarely sat still, but even before he started campaigning, those close to him predicted he would become a homebody.

Indeed, most of the time, he is at places he owns, including Trump Tower in New York, the golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, or Mar-a-Lago, his private club in South Florida. If he does go anywhere else, it will be a location near his properties.

Upon becoming president, Trump will be surrounded by a Secret Service team, replacing his previous private security detail. He will fly on Air Force One and allow his private jet to rest. He will be restricted from driving any vehicle other than a golf cart, although he will rarely drive himself.

The isolated life at the White House often requires presidential families to adjust their routines, as it can feel stifling at first.

But Melania Trump seems more optimistic because she had time to familiarize herself with the security zone when her husband was campaigning.

According to Trump's aide, Rudy Giuliani, the businessman had plans to move to the White House. However, he still wanted to live at Mar-a-Lago, formerly owned by Marjorie Merriweather Post. After her death in 1973, the property was donated to the U.S. government as a presidential retreat and became known as the "Winter White House." Due to high maintenance costs, the estate was eventually sold to Trump.

Staff often described Trump as a man of routine, who spent most of his time on the golf course, eating, socializing with guests, working, and observing the work of his staff.

Once known as a New York playboy with a packed schedule of events, Trump has recently been rarely seen out by his staff.
