People's Artist Tran Hieu enjoys a fulfilling life in his late 80s.

People's Artist Tran Hieu and his wife live in a house filled with the green of trees and flowers. He once confided that he was very lucky to have met a wife who was like a "fairy godmother," taking meticulous care of him as if he were a "big baby."

Tran Hieu shared: "Initially, our relationship was very difficult. Our children and both families seemed unsympathetic, worried that we would suffer and advising us to just stay single since we were old. Now, everyone knows that our love for each other is also deeply rooted in our bond, so they understand and support us. Nothing is more important than having children who understand and support our happiness in our later years."

People's Artist Tran Hieu suffers from many age-related illnesses, so he has to avoid many foods. Every day, his wife, Minh Nga, goes to the market early and prepares the food herself. "She loves me so much; she meticulously removes the bones from the fish and meat, paying attention to every detail. My wife is wonderful, not only I feel that way, but my friends also say so. I'm very happy. Old age is less lonely when the two of us know how to love each other," People's Artist Tran Hieu shared.

People's Artist Tran Hieu and his wife have always shown their romantic affection. People's Artist Tran Hieu says he can't live without her, from sleeping and eating to performing. Wherever he goes, she must be with him; otherwise, he would feel like an important part of him is missing and wouldn't know what to do.

They both lived very young lives, often calling each other by nicknames like young people do. She called him "Old Bear," and he called her "Mắm" (a Vietnamese idiom meaning "fish sauce"). She had a talent for performing arts, and he supported her and taught her to sing, so they occasionally went singing together.

The small house of the artist couple always welcomes friends, colleagues, and music lovers with open arms. When guests arrive, the house is filled with the sounds of music and singing. Despite his advanced age and declining health, the artist is always ready to perform when invited because music is the greatest joy of his life.

People's Artist Tran Hieu recounted that whenever guests came to visit, he and his wife would busily tidy up the house to make space for them. Despite this, their small home was filled with laughter, joy, and singing.

People's Artist Tran Hieu is proud to have been singing from his youth until he is nearly 90 years old. Whenever an organization invites him, he still steps onto the stage and sings live as usual, without needing the support of stage technology.

On days when his health permits, People's Artist Tran Hieu and his wife travel with friends and participate in the Afternoon Singing Club. For him, having his wife Minh Nga and music always by his side in his old age is complete.
