The "Connecting with China 2025" contest has officially launched.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (2025) and the "Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange Year," VTV Times, in collaboration with the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi, officially launched a writing and storytelling competition with the theme "My Connection with China."

The competition is a meaningful activity aimed at enhancing understanding, strengthening bonds, and promoting cultural exchange between the people of the two countries. The organizing committee will accept entries from November 11th to November 30th, 2025. The closing ceremony and awards presentation are expected to take place in December 2025.

Two main themes for composition

The competition was launched with two independent but complementary themes, harmoniously combining personal perspectives with contemporary issues.

Topic 1: "Heartwarming moments in my journey of encountering China"

The content focuses on the personal emotional connection to Chinese culture, history, and people, recreating genuine memories from the exchanges between the people of the two countries. Some suggestions for the work:

• My connection with Chinese culture began with learning Chinese, tea ceremony, Tai Chi, etc.
• Experience working together or forming friendships with Chinese people.
• Memorable experiences while studying, working, and traveling in China.
• Reflections on Vietnamese-Chinese cultural exchange activities.

Topic 2: "Modernizing China Through My Eyes"

This theme encourages works that reflect China's development achievements and the results of bilateral cooperation, explaining China's unique modernization path from a Vietnamese perspective. Suggested content:

• Inspired by China's advanced science, technology, and infrastructure.
• Collaborative projects on green energy and environmental technology.
• Observations on the digital economy and changes in daily life (food, housing, transportation...).
• Personal experiences regarding the convenience offered by technology.

Contest categories and types

The contest welcomes participation from a wide range of the Vietnamese public, including:

• Friendly intellectuals, Sinologists, entrepreneurs, young innovators, and Vietnamese-Chinese families.
• Vietnamese people love Chinese culture.
• Students majoring in related fields such as Chinese language and international relations.
• Vietnamese people who have studied, worked, or traveled in China.
• He was previously involved in the "Belt and Road Initiative" cooperation projects.

Entries can be submitted in three main categories:

• Document:Short essay (800-1500 words) or poem (bilingual Vietnamese-Chinese preferred).
• Image:Short video (under 3 minutes, with subtitles) or photograph (with a description of 100-200 words).
• Artwork:Calligraphy, painting, and original works of fine art (with descriptions of the underlying ideas).

Rules and instructions for submitting entries

Contestants may choose one or both themes to participate in, submitting a separate work for each theme. The works must be original, not infringe on copyright, and not violate Vietnamese customs and traditions.
