(Baonghean.vn) - With the help of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Binh Phuoc Province, on the morning of July 6, the vehicle carrying the remains of martyr Nguyen Van Thai from the South arrived at his hometown in Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province.

Martyr Nguyen Van Thai was born in 1949 in hamlet 15, My Thanh commune (Yen Thanh), joined the army in unit E175 - F5, and died on the southern battlefield during the resistance war against the US on January 24, 1970. After the war, the martyr was buried at Phuoc Long cemetery, Binh Phuoc province.

However, more than 40 years later, the family of martyr Nguyen Van Thai still did not know that their son was resting at Phuoc Long Cemetery. In 2014, thanks to the information from the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Binh Phuoc Province, the martyr's relatives organized a visit and received the grave.

In early July 2018, in response to the martyr's family's wish to bring the martyr back to his hometown, the Association worked with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Phuoc province to complete the procedures for the family.
