(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 18th, 300 veterans from Hung Nguyen, representing over 6,500 veterans throughout the district, spoke out against Father Dang Huu Nam, parish priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district.

"Father Dang Huu Nam has committed crimes against the state."

Through the erroneous words and actions of Father Dang Huu Nam in recent times, the Hung Nguyen Veterans Association vehemently opposes and condemns Dang Huu Nam's unlawful rhetoric and actions, especially his distortion of the history of the victory on April 30, 1975. Father Dang Huu Nam's words and actions have seriously offended the honor and dignity of millions of Vietnamese people who bravely sacrificed themselves to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Veteran Hung Nguyen demanded that Dang Huu Nam immediately cease all acts of inciting and luring parishioners to violate the law, disrupt public order and security, divide national unity, separate parishioners from the government, and divide people of different faiths...

Father Dang Huu Nam needs to apologize to the people in general, and to veterans in particular, for his statements distorting history and denying the achievements of the revolution. We request that the relevant authorities take strict measures to deal with Father Dang Huu Nam.
