Former Trump adviser predicts when the Ukraine conflict will end.
The conflict in Ukraine could end by the end of summer 2026, ahead of the US midterm congressional elections.

Speaking to RIA Novosti on March 28, George Papadopoulos, former advisor to US President Donald Trump, predicted that the conflict in Ukraine could end by the end of this summer.
"I believe this conflict will eventually end by the end of the summer, and we will reach a final agreement before the US midterm congressional elections," Papadopoulos assessed.
According to him, the peace process is being accelerated thanks to the policies of US President Donald Trump – who considered ending the conflict one of his central campaign promises. It also stems from the urgent need of European countries to revive their domestic economies. Papadopoulos emphasized that this outcome would not only benefit the parties directly involved in the conflict but also play a positive role in the global economy.
The US midterm elections are scheduled for November 3, 2026, to re-elect the entire House of Representatives and approximately one-third of the seats in the Senate.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Moscow was ready to pursue negotiated solutions to resolve the Ukraine crisis, based on the common ground reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump at their summit in Alaska in August 2025.
On March 27, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also affirmed that President Donald Trump is determined to push for a ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible.
"At the G7 summit, I reaffirmed President Trump's commitment to achieving a ceasefire and resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict through negotiations as quickly as possible," Foreign Minister Rubio wrote on the social media platform X.
In a related development, the Italian newspaper L'AntiDiplomatico noted that the energy crisis that erupted after the US and Israeli attack on Iran is dealing a severe blow to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The article analyzes: "The energy crisis, following the near-blockade of maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, has begun to spread beyond the borders of the Middle East. This time, the alarm is ringing in Ukraine's front lines, where fuel shortages are becoming a real challenge to Kyiv's military operations."
