Former football star Van Sy Hung parts ways with SHB Da Nang.
(Baonghean.vn) - A few days ago, the former SLNA player decided to step down from his position as Director of the SHB Da Nang youth football training center for personal reasons.
Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper, renowned footballer Van Sy Hung said: "Because I have to take on jobs at the Quang Nam Youth Football Training Center, the VSH-T&T Youth Football Training Center, and the SHB Da Nang Youth Football Training Center, I feel that the time I have to take care of my family is too little."
Over the years, under the leadership of Van Sy Hung, the aforementioned youth football centers have produced many quality talents for Vietnamese football. Typical examples include Ngan Van Dai, Tran Van Kien (Hanoi FC), Sam Ngoc Duc (Ho Chi Minh City FC), Nguyen Huu Son (Saigon FC)... This is a very commendable achievement of Van Sy Hung and his colleagues.
Before retiring, Van Sy Hung was one of the best strikers in Vietnamese football during the early 1990s and early 2000s. The former star, born in 1969, played for Thanh Hoa Police (1990-1992), SLNA (1993-2002), HAGL (2002-2003), and Khai Hoan Hotel (2004).

Van Sy Hung was a key player for SLNA in their national championship victories (2000 and 2001), the National Cup (2002), and the Vietnam Super Cup (2000, 2001, and 2002)... The second son of the famous player Van Sy Chi once played for the Vietnam National Team at the 19th SEA Games (1997) and the 1998 Tiger Cup (the predecessor of the AFF Cup).
Reportedly, the SHB Da Nang management is contacting coach Nguyen Quoc Tuan (former head coach of HAGL FC) to fill the position recently vacated by Van Sy Hung. Negotiations are progressing smoothly, and it is highly likely that coach Nguyen Quoc Tuan will arrive at the SHB Da Nang Youth Football Training Center in the next few days.
Meanwhile, Van Sy Hung continues to hold the position of Director at the Quang Nam Youth Football Training Center and the VSH - T&T Youth Football Training Center (Cua Lo Town).
