Former FBI Director James Comey Accuses White House of 'Deception'

Mr. Comey made the above statement during a public hearing before the US Senate Intelligence Committee regarding allegations that President Donald Trump asked him to conceal sensitive information related to last year's presidential election.
At the three-hour hearing, Mr. Comey said that US law does not provide a reason to fire the FBI Director, so President Donald Trump's administration chose to "defame" him and the FBI by claiming that the agency was in chaos, had weak leadership, and that the staff no longer had confidence in that leadership.
The former FBI director called these reasons “deception” by the White House. Mr. Comey also released the content of conversations between him and President Donald Trump, in which Mr. Trump wanted a “patronage relationship” and asked for “loyalty” from him.
Mr. Comey also presented evidence that President Donald Trump asked him to stop investigating former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn.
Former FBI Director Comey said his firing was somehow intended to alter the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the US election and was a “grand bargain.”
On May 9, FBI Director Comey was suddenly fired by President Donald Trump while he was in charge of the investigation into allegations of Russian interference in last year's US presidential election.
The US Department of Justice later appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special prosecutor responsible for overseeing the federal investigation into this matter./.
