Two brothers whose boat capsized off the coast of Cua Lo were successfully rescued.
On the afternoon of January 21st, two fishermen, who are brothers from Vinh Loc ward, Nghe An province, were rescued in time by Border Guard forces in coordination with relevant agencies after encountering difficulties at sea off Cua Lo due to the effects of the Northeast monsoon.
At approximately 2:30 PM on January 21, 2026, a fishing boat captained by Nguyen Cong Chung (born 1978) and Nguyen Cong Nghia (born 1980), both residing in Block 1, Phuc Tho Ward, Vinh Loc Commune, capsized while returning from the fishing grounds to Cua Hoi estuary. At the time of the incident, the two fishermen did not have time to put on life jackets and clung to a piece of styrofoam to try and drift towards shore.
Upon receiving the report, Squadron 2 of the Nghe An Border Guard Command promptly mobilized forces and resources to organize a search and rescue operation. After a short time, the authorities located and rescued Mr. Nguyen Cong Nghia, bringing him safely ashore.
